Job description

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

A leading international organization in the healthcare diagnostics sector is looking for a Data Analyst with strong ETL expertise to join a 6-month consulting engagement. This is a hybrid profile role — equal parts data analysis and ETL development — for someone comfortable working across the full data lifecycle, from extraction and transformation through to business reporting.

Full remote, contractor engagement, based in Portugal. Extension possible depending on project evolution.

PROJECT & CONTEXT

You'll be embedded in an Azure-based data ecosystem, contributing to data integration and analytics initiatives that support business reporting and decision-making across the organisation. Day-to-day work covers building and maintaining ETL workflows, validating data quality, documenting data flows and transformations, and supporting reporting initiatives with trusted, well-structured data.

This is not a reporting-only role — hands-on ETL development is central to the position. You'll collaborate closely with both technical and business teams throughout the engagement.

Duration: 6 months, with possible extension.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3–6 years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar data-focused role
  • Strong hands-on experience with ETL development and data integration processes — this is a core requirement, not a nice-to-have
  • Advanced SQL skills and solid experience working with relational database management systems
  • Experience working within Microsoft Azure environments
  • Solid understanding of data modelling and data warehousing concepts
  • Experience performing data validation, troubleshooting, and data quality activities
  • Ability to gather, analyse, and interpret business data for reporting and decision-making
  • Experience documenting data flows, transformations, and business rules
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable collaborating with both business and technical stakeholders
  • English: B2 (Upper Intermediate) — mandatory
  • Based in Portugal — mandatory

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF)
  • Experience with Azure SQL Database or Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Python 3.x for data processing and automation
  • Shell/Bash scripting experience
  • Experience with QlikView or Diveport BI
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies

Compensation: €2,700 – €3,600/month net, depending on experience and seniority level.
