Job description

Data Architect (Databricks/Lakehouse/Data Modeling) - Portugal or Spain Full Remote

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Join an international technology environment focused on building modern enterprise data platforms and enabling data-driven decision-making at scale. As a Data Architect, you will shape the architecture of a cloud-based data platform, defining the standards, models and integration patterns needed to deliver reliable, scalable and well-governed data products.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Data Architect who combines strategic architectural thinking with practical solution design. You will work closely with business stakeholders, Data Engineers, Analytics teams and enterprise architects to translate business needs into robust data solutions and influence the long-term evolution of the platform.

PROJECT & CONTEXT

You will lead the design and implementation of a modern enterprise data platform built on Databricks and Azure, establishing a scalable Lakehouse architecture aligned with enterprise requirements and platform best practices.

Your responsibilities will include defining target-state data architecture, designing conceptual, logical and physical data models, and establishing standards for data modelling, integration and governance. You will ensure that business entities and data structures are consistently represented across the platform while supporting reliable data consumption by engineering, reporting and analytics teams.

You will also define data governance principles covering lineage, metadata management, cataloguing, security and access patterns. Working closely with Data Engineers, you will review solution designs, guide implementation decisions and support performance, scalability and cost optimisation.

A key part of the role involves facilitating business and technical workshops, communicating architecture decisions clearly and acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders. You will contribute to the platform roadmap and help ensure that architectural decisions support both current business requirements and future enterprise needs.
