General Description
Entry‑level professional billing role responsible for accurate claim submission and routine follow‑up using established workflows in an academic medical environment.
Essential Job Duties

Prepare and submit professional claims; correct routine claim errors and rejections.
Work assigned billing and follow‑up queues in Epic.
Apply foundational knowledge of CPT, ICD‑10‑CM, modifiers, and payer rules.
Meet productivity, quality, and timeliness standards.

Minimum Requirements (Level 1):
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience: At least 1 year of Medical Insurance experience.
Certification/License/Registration: None required.
Minimum Requirements (Level 2):
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience: At least 3 years of professional billing experience required.
Certification/License/Registration: CPB required within 1 year of hire date.
