Razor is looking for a
Database Architect who will lead the design, implementation, automation, and operational strategy for enterprise database platforms and data services in AWS GovCloud. This role collaborates across cloud architecture, platform engineering, security, DevSecOps, and application teams to establish modern, scalable, and secure database solutions. The position focuses on developing cloud-native standards, automation processes, and resilient data operations from development through production environments.
This is a 100% remote position.
Clearance Requirements: Ability to obtain and pass a Public Trust Security Clearance (low-level background check); fingerprinting required
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise database architectures in AWS GovCloud
- Establish cloud-native database architecture standards and best practices
- Develop infrastructure automation and deployment pipelines
- Define and implement disaster recovery strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including cloud architecture, DevSecOps, and application teams
- Ensure database platforms meet requirements for reliability, performance, and compliance
- Oversee secure data operations across development, testing, and production environments
- Research, evaluate, and document recommendations for existing database solutions
- Support system design and engineering efforts across Linux, Solaris, and Windows environments
- Analyze and tune database queries to improve performance
Qualifications:
- Experience designing and implementing cloud-native database architectures in AWS GovCloud supporting secure, scalable, and highly available enterprise systems
- Experience architecting and deploying resilient database platforms using AWS RDS and Oracle
- Experience administering Oracle databases in AWS environments
- Experience supporting Linux, Solaris, and Windows systems engineering efforts in system design, evaluation, solution engineering, software development, or system administration
- Experience analyzing and tuning queries to improve performance
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and/or the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Aurora PostgreSQL
- Experience with PostgreSQL
