Job description

At GenesisCare we want to hear from people who are as passionate as we are about innovation and working together to drive better life outcomes for patients around the world.

Care to join the team?

We’re now looking for an experienced and people-centred Communications Director to join our team on a 12-month maternity leave contract.

This is a unique opportunity to shape how we communicate, connect and engage with our people across Australia during an exciting period of growth and transformation.

This role is based in Sydney and offers genuine flexibility, including hybrid working arrangements and the option to work either full-time or 4 days per week (0.8 FTE).

About the role

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you’ll lead GenesisCare’s internal communications strategy, partnering closely with senior leaders across the business to deliver clear, engaging and meaningful communication that connects our people to our purpose and priorities.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys both strategy and delivery, from executive communications and organisational change initiatives through to townhalls, leadership messaging and employee engagement activities.

You’ll play a trusted advisory role to senior leaders, helping translate complex information into authentic, people-focused communication that builds alignment, trust and connection across the organisation.

We’d also love to hear from candidates with broader experience across corporate affairs, media or stakeholder communications, as there is the opportunity for this position to oversee the PR function.

More specifically, you will:

  • Lead internal communications strategy and planning across the business.
  • Partner with executive leaders, including the CEO and Chief Medical Officer.
  • Develop engaging communications for organisational updates, transformation initiatives and key projects.
  • Coordinate national townhalls, virtual forums and employee engagement activities.
  • Support communications during periods of change and critical incidents.
  • Manage and evolving internal communication channels, including the intranet.
  • Provide coverage for our PR function.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across People & Culture, Operations, Marketing and Clinical leadership teams.

About you

You’re a confident communicator and trusted advisor who brings warmth, sound judgement and a calm, collaborative approach.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Significant experience in senior internal communications roles within complex organisations.
  • Exceptional written communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience supporting executive leaders and organisational change initiatives.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
  • Strong digital communication capability and confidence facilitating virtual engagement.
  • Healthcare experience is highly regarded, though not essential.

Benefits of joining our team:

  • Hybrid working model with flexibility to work full time or 4 days (0.8).
  • Access to our confidential Employee Assistance Program for employees and their immediate families.
  • Care for Your Wellbeing programs because we understand that we need to support you to support patients.
  • Salary sacrifice options for superannuation.
  • Care to Grow - training, learning and development opportunities.
  • Care to Celebrate - recognition and appreciation programs.
  • Employee Rewards Referral Program.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to make a genuine impact, influence meaningful change and work alongside passionate leaders in a purpose-driven organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
