Job description

The Company:

AudienceView is an organization of people who are passionate about the business of Live Events. We create industry-leading software solutions that fuel attendee engagement, ticket sales and advertising solutions for thousands of sports, music and theatre venues in 16 countries around the world. AudienceView employees share a vision to help entertainment organizations deliver exceptional experiences for people who love live events. We achieve this through innovative technology, popular media brands, effective distribution strategies and a dedicated team of experts that help create customer success every single day.

Why we’d want to work with you

You design, build, maintain and evolve data platforms, from research and testing through to production. You own problems and projects all the way from stakeholder inputs to ongoing usage in production. You are highly focused on data ingestion, transformation, and creating models that provide value to analysts. You care about data quality and performance because you’ve had to keep things running in production, not just design them on paper. You take time to think about the business logic behind the data.

This is a fully remote role based in Chile. You’ll work closely with a small Data & Analytics team spread across the UK and Chile and will be comfortable conducting all spoken and written work in English.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the migration to Microsoft Fabric. Rebuild existing pipelines, workflows, and workspaces from our Azure environment using documented Fabric best practices.
  • Expand and scale the platform to create value for users. Design and build ingestion for new sources, create and validate transformation code, and surface data in intuitive semantic layers.
  • Maintain and improve data trust. Add to and improve the processes for QA and monitoring that prevent erosion of user trust in our data.
  • Work in a medallion architecture. Continually refine the bronze, silver, and gold layers to improve data accuracy, availability and usability.
  • Put engineering quality first. Conform to standards for code structure and clarity, version control, documentation, work logging and demonstrable testing.
  • Connect data to consumption. Consider the end user when making transformed data available.
  • Consider storage and lifecycle. Decide how data is stored and retained, balancing scale, performance, and cost.

What you'll need:

  • Experience of Microsoft Fabric in production. You’ve created workloads using OneLake, Lakehouse, Pipelines/Dataflows Gen2, PySpark Notebooks, Semantic Models. You have familiarity with Warehouse, Eventstream, Shortcuts, Mirroring.
  • Deep experience of the Azure data stack. Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, ADLS Gen2, Key Vault, and the services around them.
  • Experience as an owner of a data platform migration. You have migrated a legacy system into a modern environment and maintained it in production.
  • Strong experience with PySpark and solid Python engineering skills. You will be comfortable working in structured, maintainable codebases (not just notebooks) including writing modular, testable code and contributing to shared libraries or frameworks.
  • Advanced SQL. You will be able to infer business logic from existing SQL views and have expertise in writing ad-hoc queries to investigate data discrepancies. You will be able to write new SQL views that provide customised windows into the data warehouse.
  • Disciplined approach to team procedures within Azure DevOps. Kanban, wiki, Git, and branch management are an essential part of how you collaborate.
  • Power BI literacy. You will be able to trace a user’s issue from its visible evidence in a Power BI report, back upstream to its origin.
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • You work independently. You diagnose, decide, and fix without waiting for direction.
  • Experience using modern development tools, including AI-assisted tooling (e.g. Warp, AI copilots, or similar) to improve productivity, debugging, and code efficiency.

Nice to Have

  • Experience developing code to process data from 3rd party APIs at scale, including structured persistence of the ingested data
  • Streaming ingestion and processing
  • Experience helping other engineers to level-up
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
