Our client is a well-established Building Services Consultancy delivering innovative mechanical and electrical design solutions across a diverse range of commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and industrial projects throughout the UK.
Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Designer to join their remote team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated designer seeking flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to work on high-profile projects without the daily commute.
Working closely with engineers, project managers, and clients, you will be responsible for producing high-quality M&E designs and technical drawings from concept through to construction stage.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering coordinated building services designs while ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Produce detailed Mechanical and Electrical design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
Develop coordinated building services layouts for a variety of projects.
Assist with HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling, lighting, power, and public health designs.
Prepare technical documentation, schedules, specifications, and supporting calculations.
Ensure designs comply with current UK Building Regulations, British Standards, and CIBSE guidance.
Coordinate designs with architectural and structural teams.
Participate in project meetings and client discussions remotely.
Review project information and incorporate design changes as required.
Support project delivery from initial concept through to completion.
Our client is keen to speak with candidates who possess:
Previous experience within Mechanical & Electrical or Building Services Design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Experience using Revit MEP and BIM workflows.
Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and building services standards.
Experience producing technical drawings and design documentation.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a remote team environment.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience with design software such as IES, Hevacomp, Amtech, Dialux, or Relux.
Knowledge of sustainable and low-carbon technologies.
Membership of CIBSE, IET, or progress towards professional accreditation.
