Requirements

Role Overview

The Senior MSP Engineer is a client-facing technical leader responsible for delivering advanced IT support, managing infrastructure, and driving innovation across cloud and network environments. You’ll set the technical standard, mentor junior engineers, and ensure service excellence that meets and exceeds client expectations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Service Delivery Excellence: Resolve complex issues with speed and precision; maintain SLA adherence (90%+), CSAT scores (9/10+).
  • Operational Optimisation: Improve processes, document solutions, and drive efficiency gains.
  • Team Development: Mentor junior engineers, foster collaboration, and contribute to a high-performing culture.

Responsibilities

1. Advanced Technical Support

  • Deliver Level 2/3 support across Windows, Linux, macOS.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex server/workstation issues.
  • Use RMM tools (Datto RMM, N-able, Nagios, Cacti) for proactive monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot VoIP, IPTV, and internet service issues.

2. Network & Infrastructure Management

  • Configure/manage LAN/WAN, WiFi, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, routing.
  • Specialise in Unifi/Ubiquiti Networks; manage multi-tenant setups.
  • Conduct network/security assessments; recommend improvements.
  • Work with Cisco and Juniper switches.

3. Cloud Services & Security

  • Administer Google Workspace & Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Lead migrations and onboarding projects.
  • Implement SMB 1001-aligned security frameworks.
  • Perform domain audits; manage Chrome Enterprise solutions.

4. Documentation & Process

  • Maintain accurate records in Autotask, IT Glue, or similar.
  • Ensure SLA compliance and contribute to infrastructure upgrade projects.

Leadership Expectations

  • Mentor and coach junior engineers.
  • Lead by example in technical execution and client service.
  • Foster collaboration and team morale.
  • Demonstrate readiness for future leadership roles.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in MSP/IT support environments.
  • Strong Level 3 engineering background.
  • Proven mentoring/leadership experience.
  • Expertise in Google Workspace, M365, networking, and cloud platforms.
  • Certifications preferred: Google Workspace Admin, CompTIA Network+/Security+, CCNA, Microsoft.
