As a leader of leaders, the Director, Insurance Sales will be responsible for overseeing a team of Sales Managers, focusing on Insurance Sales and New Business Development. The goal of this role is to increase sales and overall sales volume, through strong leadership focused on employee growth, development, and engagement. Remains abreast of legislative and competitive advances in the Insurance Industry. Provides guidance and leadership to support compliance with regulatory reporting requirements. Provides information and problem resolution support to Club management; ensures delivery of Five Diamond Service. Design and implements new processes, programs, and systems that will increase service to members and increase our competitive edge.

What you will do:
  • Responsible for managing Insurance Sales and Developing New Business to increase sales and overall sales volume. Will be responsible for direct oversight of a team of Sales Managers and their teams of sales agents. Promotes a culture of coaching, mentoring, and growth in a growing Insurance Sales organization.
  • Oversees the activities of the Insurance sales managers and staff. Limits Errors and Omissions exposures by ensuring compliance with standardized procedures. Analyzes historical performance, market factors, competitor’s position and accessibility of products to develop procedures, programs and performance measures to achieve sales and service goals. Oversees implementation, monitors results, and initiates corrective action. Ensures that Club policies and procedures are followed.
  • Develops business relationships with existing and prospective Insurance Company representatives. Continuously build relationship and maintain interactions with new insurance vendors. Schedules regular touchpoints, ensuring sales manager and agent awareness and knowledge of products. Creates mutually beneficial marketing schemes and participates in first-level commission structure negotiations. Partners with senior leadership to devise new business strategies.
  • Oversees the employment process for insurance staff, including hiring, training and performance management. Ensures appropriate staffing levels. Authorizes personnel and salary actions. Recommends performance standards and goals. Monitors individual compliance with legal and Insurance licensing requirements, ensuring all Agents are involved in continuous improvement efforts. Works with senior leadership to resolve Insurance staffing or service delivery issues. Ensures that staff is thoroughly knowledgeable about Insurance products and comply with all related laws, regulations and practices. Identifies training needs.
  • Resolves member complaints, maintaining goodwill. Authorizes exceptions to policies. Utilizes all available resources to provide positive alternatives to resolving conflicts and discrepancies. Works with MCIC or carrier underwriting staff to obtain approval for exceptions.
  • Safeguards Club assets by continually monitoring payment process. Makes recommendations to senior leadership team regarding streamlining workflow and creating checks and balances within the system. Ensures all sales staff adheres to policies and procedures. Responsible for consumer quoting platform workflows, maintenance, and updates.
  • Teams with Customer Service, Agency Support, Underwriting and Branch Management to coordinate the internal/external phases of service delivery. Keeps stakeholders abreast on policy or procedural changes.
  • Keeps abreast of legislative or industry changes that may impact business. Analyzes industry trends. Reviews trade magazines and Internet articles. Makes recommendation to Senior leadership regarding right sizing, advertising, product mix, etc. Keeps staff informed of industry changes, agency and company changes, and vendor requirements.
