Overview:

Senior Internal Communications Officer

Location: Remote / Flexible

Hours:  Full-time – 37.5 hours per week

About the role

In this key leadership role, you’ll drive the delivery of our internal communications and engagement strategy—ensuring every colleague and volunteer feels informed, connected, and empowered.

You’ll:

  • Lead and develop a team of three Internal Communications Officers
  • Own and manage the internal communications calendar and planning pipeline
  • Deliver major campaigns and high-profile communications projects
  • Partner with senior leaders to provide expert strategic advice
  • Continuously improve channels and content to increase engagement and impact
  • Monitor performance, identify risks, and drive innovative solutions
  • Champion our brand, tone of voice, and organisational values 

 

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who combines creativity with strategic thinking and leadership:

Essential experience & skills

  • Experience in communications or marketing (4+ years)
  • Proven success delivering engaging campaigns and communications plans
  • Experience managing or supervising others
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
  • A proactive, innovative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement

 

We’d particularly welcome experience in:
  • Experience with tools like Mailchimp, SharePoint, Viva Engage, or Teams live events
  • Knowledge of change communications or project management approaches
  • Ability to use data and insights to influence communications strategies

About the team

You’ll be part of a collaborative and creative Communications and Marketing function (25+ colleagues).

Working within a dedicated Internal Communications & Engagement team, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we connect with our workforce across the organisation.
