Our captive actuarial practice is looking for an experienced P&C Actuary who will manage the timely and accurate delivery of various types of actuarial analyses to a large portfolio of captive and self-insured clients.

  • Joining a team of Actuarial Consultants and Actuarial Analysts, specialized in the delivery of client engagements such as:
  • Evaluations of unpaid claims liabilities
  • Statements of Actuarial Opinion
  • Loss funding and payout projections
  • Ratemaking
  • Captive feasibility studies
  • Retention optimization
  • Risk transfer opinions
  • Premium allocations
  • Commutation valuations
  • Parent company self-retained liability analyses
  • M&A due diligence
  • Cost allocations
  • Capital analyses
  • Managing actuarial projects from start to finish, including ensuring quality and timeliness of client deliverables, developing budgets and billing reports, acting as senior client contact and preparing/delivering concise communications and results to client.
  • Acting as a mentor to junior actuarial staff and overseeing their basic actuarial work.

What you need to have:

  • BA/BS degree.
  • Actuarial credentials (ACAS or FCAS) required.
  • Qualification under US standards to sign P/C Statements of Actuarial Opinion
  • Five or more years of relevant actuarial experience, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • An expert level of understanding of property & casualty insurance products and actuarial skills.
  • Superior analytical and mathematical skills, strong command of Excel.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication skills.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $121,900 to $259,700.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
