Summary Description:
The Contracts Manager is responsible for full ownership, organization, and oversight of all organizational contracts, with a primary focus on payer and managed care agreements. This role ensures contracts are complete, accurate, accessible, and thoroughly reviewed, and that all contractual terms align with organizational operations.
The position includes an initial comprehensive audit and consolidation of all contracts, followed by ongoing contract management, review, and support of new contracting initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Collect, organize, and maintain a complete centralized repository of all contracts.
- Ensure all contracts are current, accessible, and version-controlled
- Conduct detailed, line-by-line review of contracts, including terms, service coverage, CPT codes, and reimbursement provisions
- Compare contract versions to identify changes, discrepancies, and risks
- Ensure contracts align with services delivered by the organization.
- Review all payer and managed care agreements to ensure services provided are appropriately covered.
- Identify and prioritize opportunities to expand the payer mix
- Support negotiation and execution of new and amended contracts.
- Manage contracts through the full lifecycle, including intake, review, execution, and renewal.
- Perform full contract review prior to execution to reduce errors and rework
- Partner with billing, operations, and credentialing teams to ensure alignment with contract terms.
- Identify and escalate contracts requiring credentialing or site updates
- Provide clear interpretation of contract terms to internal stakeholders.
- Serve as the single point of accountability for contract oversight across the organization.
- Perform ongoing contract reviews and support new contracting efforts.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- Experience in contract management, legal review, or healthcare contracting
- Experience with managed care and commercial payer agreements
- Strong understanding of contract structure, terms, and compliance requirements
- Experience working with billing, credentialing, or operational teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Paralegal background preferred
- Must be cleared and maintain clearance by applicable regulatory clearances as required
- Legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

- Position requires extended periods of document review and computer-based work
- Work hours and structure may adjust based on contract volume and organizational needs
Mandated Reporter:
This is a Mandated Reporter position. The NYS Justice Center legislation defines anyone who has regular and substantial contact with any person with special needs as a “custodian” under the law and, therefore, a mandated reporter.
