Job description

This is a remote position.

Responsibilities

The following are the essential responsibilities of the role, in addition to any other duties that may be assigned:

  • Develop Oracle Forms and PL/SQL solutions to transform stakeholder requirements into functional business applications with minimal guidance from the project lead.
  • Confidently work with legacy enterprise databases that may follow varying standards and structures.
  • Perform effectively within a fast-paced Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) environment.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and a willingness to learn new approaches to problem-solving.
  • Identify gaps or inconsistencies in ticket requirements and collaborate with the team to address them.
  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues.
  • Analyze and work within existing codebases to gain a deeper understanding of system functionality.
  • Implement feedback received during code reviews conducted by the project lead.
  • Maintain a proactive mindset toward understanding Westgate’s operations and gaining deeper knowledge of business processes.
  • Continuously adapt to new methodologies, tools, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Ensure all code is thoroughly tested before deployment to production environments.
  • Adhere to established team coding standards and best practices.
  • Respond to questions regarding developed code and project work from team members and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Provide accurate estimates for development tasks and project deliverables.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills when interacting with both technical and non-technical team members.

  • Experience with Oracle APEX.
  • Experience working with legacy enterprise systems.
  • Experience participating in modernization initiatives or migrating legacy technologies to modern technology stacks.
