Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced RDSL Lead (Reusable Digital Service Layer Lead) to drive the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, secure, and reusable backend services. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, AWS services, PostgreSQL database design, microservices development, API management, and modern DevOps practices.

This role will be responsible for establishing reusable service patterns, ensuring platform scalability, and leading engineering teams in building enterprise-grade digital service layers aligned with TM Forum Open Digital Architecture (ODA) standards.

Key Responsibilities Architecture & Design

• Own and drive the architecture of the Reusable Digital Service Layer (RDSL).
• Design and implement scalable, resilient, and high-performing headless microservices.
• Define domain-driven design (DDD) principles and reusable service frameworks.
• Establish best practices for cloud-native application development.

Cloud & Platform Engineering

• Design and deploy cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Lead implementation of containerized workloads using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Develop deployment automation strategies using Helm and Ansible.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability of services.

Database & Data Architecture

• Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas for performance and scalability.
• Implement indexing, partitioning, replication, and performance tuning strategies.
• Establish data governance and reliability standards.
• Drive database monitoring and optimization initiatives.

API & Integration Management

• Own API lifecycle management from design through deployment.
• Define API versioning, governance, documentation, and security standards.
• Develop and maintain OpenAPI-compliant services.
• Ensure compliance with TM Forum Open APIs and ODA frameworks.
• Integrate telecom-specific APIs and network management interfaces.

Reliability & Observability

• Establish defensive coding standards and resilient system design.
• Implement retry mechanisms, fault tolerance, circuit breakers, and recovery patterns.
• Build observability frameworks including monitoring, logging, and tracing.
• Drive performance tuning and proactive issue resolution.

Leadership & Mentorship

• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to engineering teams.
• Conduct architecture reviews and code quality assessments.
• Mentor developers on cloud-native development, microservices, and DevOps best practices.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and business stakeholders.

AI & Innovation

• Explore and integrate AI-driven services within backend platforms.
• Enable intelligent automation and predictive capabilities through modern AI frameworks.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• AWS Certification (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent).
• Kubernetes Certification (CKA/CKAD) preferred.
• Experience working in SaaS product companies.
• Experience in Telecom, OSS/BSS, or Network Automation domains.
