Job description

About OpsMill

OpsMill is building the next generation of infrastructure data management, helping automation teams unify data and scale reliably. Our platform empowers network, infrastructure, NetDevOps, and IT automation teams to manage infrastructure intent data more flexibly, predictably, and safely. We're a commercial open-source company built by practitioners who understand the real-world challenges of scaling infrastructure automation.

The Role

OpsMill is a lean, fast-moving team and we intend to keep it that way. As we scale, our leadership team needs an exceptionally capable operator in their corner, someone who keeps the business running smoothly behind the scenes so they can focus on what only they can do.

You'll report to our Head of Operations and work as a direct EA to our CEO and COO. In practice, that means you sit at the intersection of financial administration, people operations, and executive support, owning the day-to-day execution of each so our leadership team can operate at the right altitude.

This is a high-trust, high-visibility role. You'll know what's happening across the business before most people do, and you'll be expected to act on it with good judgment and minimal hand-holding.

This is a full-time, remote position. We are looking for candidates based in Western Europe (CET or GMT time zones preferred), with the flexibility to occasionally overlap with US business hours.

What You'll Own

  • Financial Administration. ~ 40%: Day-to-day bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll coordination, and expense management. You're precise with numbers and take the unglamorous stuff seriously.

  • People Operations. ~ 30%: Onboarding new team members well, maintaining our employee handbook, and managing our Employer of Record relationships for our distributed team. You'll also contribute to and eventually own our benefits package.

  • Executive Support. ~ 10%: You'll be the operational backbone for our CEO and COO, managing diaries, travel, and high-priority administrative tasks so they stay focused on the work that moves the company forward. You'll also support our Head of Operations in offloading the day-to-day.

  • Operational Projects. ~20% The fast-moving projects that don't fit neatly anywhere else. You take them on, figure out the approach, and see them through.

What You Bring

  • Hands-on finance background. Bookkeeping and payroll experience, not just oversight. You're comfortable with the detail.

  • People ops exposure. You've managed onboarding, HR processes, or EOR relationships in a distributed team context.

  • Startup experience. You've operated in an early-stage environment and know what it means to work without a defined playbook.

  • Senior EA experience. You've supported C-suite leaders directly, you understand discretion, and you know how to manage up gracefully.

  • Exceptional follow-through. Things you own get done. You don't need chasing.

  • English fluency. Strong written and verbal communication throughout. Additional languages a bonus.

Reporting Structure

You'll have a primary reporting line to our Head of Operations and a dotted line to our COO and CEO for executive support. In practice you'll work closely with all three daily.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: EUR 42,000 - EUR 50,000 gross annual (France reference range). Compensation ranges are country-specific. If you are applying from a different location, we will discuss your local market rate openly at the start of the process.

  • Equity: Early-stage equity package.

  • Benefits: Comprehensive health coverage, flexible PTO, parental leave, remote-first home office stipend, and twice-yearly company offsites.

How We Hire

Introductory call to discuss your background, a practical conversation on finance, ops, and EA experience, and a final conversation with the leadership team. We aim to move from first call to offer in under three weeks.

Equal Opportunity

OpsMill is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
