Your new role:

An opportunity has arisen for a community safety support officer to join the Community Safety Unit on a fulltime and permanent basis. This role is offered on a hybrid basis, combining remote working with one to two office days per week.

 

As a community safety support officer, you will ensure the efficient and accurate management of data and administrative functions within the community safety unit. This includes inputting and monitoring data across multiple systems, identifying trends and patterns. You will play a key role in supporting insights and performance reporting across the Community Safety Unit (CSU) and Community Safety Partnership (CSP).

 

You will establish, maintain and develop relevant monitoring systems and frameworks, including tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), to support insight and evidence-based decision making within the CSU and CSP. You will assist in the creation of reports and submissions by assisting with data gathering, analysis and collaboration with stakeholders, and will provide accurate and timely information to support senior officers and strategic delivery.

 

You will coordinate meetings, preparing agendas and ensuring actions are recorded and progressed. You will also provide high-quality support to the unit through maintaining accurate records and enabling the smooth delivery of CSU activity.

What you'll need to succeed:

To be successful in this role, previous experience of working in a busy office environment in an administrative capacity is essential alongside experience of working with data and information.  You need to be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills, with good keyboard skills. It is vital that you have clear verbal, electronic, and written skills of communication as you will be liaising with variety of stakeholders across different levels, and you must have the ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities. Demonstrable intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including experience of data manipulation and reporting is highly essential for this role.

 

You must be confident working independently, deliver accurate and timely outputs particularly in relation to data management. It is important that you have strong organisational skills to support the wider team as required. Good working knowledge of Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and ASB crime and Policing Act 2014 will be highly desirable but not essential.

 

Your application will not be considered if you do not have at least GCSE Grade 4/C in English and Maths or equivalent and this must be evidenced with a certificate.
