1099 Liaison – Top Secret 
 
Xcelerate Solution is seeking an experienced background investigations professional to join our team as a 1099 Liaison, supporting national security and suitability investigations across DHS and IC contracts.  If you’re currently working in the Federal Background Investigations industry and ready to advance your career, this role offers the opportunity to lead, mentor, and shape a high‑performing investigative team within a culture built on transparent communication, collaboration, and mission‑driven performance. clearance to be considered. The 1099 liaison is responsible for supervising and developing a team of 1099 background investigators conducting security clearance investigations on behalf of government clients. This position requires deep, hands‑on experience with investigative standards, as well as the ability to guide investigators through complex casework, evolving requirements, and performance expectations.
You will collaborate closely with fellow Team Leads, 1099 Liaisons and program leadership, providing insight into team performance, identifying risks, and ensuring adherence to investigative protocols. A working understanding of cost control and performance metrics management are also key functions of the role.  You will also be required to manage the day-to-day caseload for the members of our 1099 investigator community and ensure their work is completed promptly and accurately. Responsibilities: 
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of 1099 background investigators 
  • Ensure investigative work meets all federal standards, protocols, and service delivery expectations
  • Monitor team performance to include quality, timeliness, and productivity metrics
  • Collaborate with other Team Leaders to share best practices and maintain program alignment
  • Report performance trends, risks, and operational issues to leadership
  • Support training, development, and onboarding of 1099 investigators
  • Manage team efficiencies, control costs, and contribute to financial performance goals
  • Maintain strong organizational discipline, communication skills, and writing proficiency
  • Foster a culture of support, accountability, transparency, and mission‑focused execution
Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience on both, preferably have active DHS investigator credentials and must be able to obtain approval by all program customers
  • Background investigations work experience; leadership experience preferred
  • Experience with mentoring, coaching, and training investigative staff
  • Familiarity with daily workflow tracking, timely assignment delivery, and metrics accountability
  • Must possess an active Top Secret clearance
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience at program discretion
