Job description

Real opportunities. Real impact. Your career, redefined.

(NOTE: A human reviews every application at Oceans, so please apply for only one position and only once a year—if you're a better fit for another role, we’ll route your application accordingly and if we’re not quite ready for you, we’ll reach back out later.)

At Oceans, we help the best and brightest of Sri Lanka to take advantage of opportunities that otherwise wouldn’t be available to them, while supporting entrepreneurs around the world. Our community (we call them Divers) don’t do surface work—they go deep to solve complex challenges and make a real impact. And in doing so, they support bold ideas and expand their skills, broaden their expertise, and grow their careers, all without having to leave family and friends.

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will play a critical role in helping Oceans scale by building high-quality talent pipelines, improving hiring outcomes, and ensuring an exceptional candidate experience. You’ll work at the intersection of talent strategy, sourcing, screening, workforce planning, and process improvement, partnering closely with teams across Sales, Delivery, Training, and Operations.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical thinking with excellent stakeholder management and recruitment execution. You’ll be responsible for translating business demand into hiring outcomes while continuously improving the systems, processes, and data that power talent acquisition.

Accountability

Your success as a Talent Acquisition Specialist will be defined by your ability to build predictable hiring pipelines, attract high-quality talent, improve hiring quality, and ensure a seamless candidate experience.

Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

Talent Pipeline Planning & Workforce Forecasting

  • Analyze business demand, sales pipeline trends, conversion rates, talent availability, and role economics to forecast hiring needs.
  • Develop hiring plans and talent acquisition strategies that ensure the right skills are available at the right time and cost.
  • Identify bottlenecks, risks, and capacity constraints within the hiring pipeline and proactively recommend solutions.
  • Maintain accurate hiring data and reporting to support workforce planning and decision-making.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Delivery, Training, and Operations teams to align hiring plans with business priorities.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging skill sets and talent trends that improve hiring outcomes and matchability.

Talent Attraction & Sourcing

  • Develop and execute multi-channel sourcing strategies across inbound, outbound, referral, and networking channels.
  • Build and maintain strong talent pipelines to support both immediate and future hiring needs.
  • Adjust sourcing tactics, outreach strategies, and pipeline volumes based on hiring targets, market conditions, and conversion data.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition Marketing teams to drive awareness campaigns and improve inbound applicant quality and volume.
  • Build professional relationships with candidates across multiple platforms and represent Oceans positively throughout the hiring process.
  • Continuously evaluate sourcing effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve candidate acquisition.

Talent Screening & Assessment

  • Manage candidates through the recruitment process while maintaining strong process hygiene and communication standards.
  • Apply sound judgment when evaluating candidate skills, experience, compensation expectations, and role fit.
  • Identify hiring risks, edge cases, and potential mismatches, escalating appropriately when needed.
  • Continuously evaluate screening processes and assessment methodologies to improve hiring speed, quality, and consistency.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure hiring decisions align with business requirements.
  • Take ownership of candidate quality throughout the recruitment lifecycle.

Data Management & Recruitment Analytics

  • Maintain high standards of candidate data hygiene across recruitment systems, databases, and tracking tools.
  • Produce reports, analyses, and hiring insights that support better decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting structures, and operational visibility.
  • Recommend additional data points and metrics that strengthen hiring insights and forecasting accuracy.
  • Utilize spreadsheets, formulas, automation tools, and process improvements to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
  • Connect detailed recruitment data to broader business objectives and workforce planning initiatives.

Hiring Quality & Process Improvement

  • Take ownership of the candidate journey from sourcing through hiring and onboarding readiness.
  • Gather and analyze feedback from Training, Delivery, and other cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Recommend and help implement process enhancements, assessment updates, and workflow improvements that improve hiring outcomes.
  • Identify recurring hiring challenges and proactively develop solutions to address them.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the Talent Acquisition function.
  • Adapt quickly to changing business needs while maintaining a focus on hiring quality and operational excellence.

Candidate Experience & Employer Brand

  • Ensure a positive, professional, and respectful candidate experience regardless of hiring outcome.
  • Recognize the impact of candidate experience on employer branding, referrals, and future talent attraction efforts.
  • Maintain service levels and communication standards throughout the recruitment process.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce candidate friction, improve process efficiency, and minimize drop-off rates.
  • Incorporate candidate and stakeholder feedback to strengthen communication, transparency, and overall hiring experience.
