This role reports directly to the General Counsel and works closely with operations, and business leaders. It requires a capable attorney who solves problems and wants meaningful responsibility in a fast-paced defense tech environment.

Key responsibilities
• Lead and support export controls and trade compliance, including DDTC registration, CFIUS, classification analyses, license support, and technology control plans.
• Provide clear, practical legal guidance on export controls, procurement rules, compliance issues and related legal matters to support corporate goals.

• Draft and negotiate partnership, licensing and other commercial agreements.
• Help create and improve policies, procedures, templates and training.

Qualifications
• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Significant, relevant legal experience with exposure to export controls, international trade, government contracts, or regulatory compliance.
• Working knowledge of ITAR and familiarity with FAR; desire to deepen expertise.
• Strong drafting, research, and judgment, with a practical, business-oriented approach.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with senior leaders in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment.
• This position requires access to export-controlled information, so applicants must be a “U.S. Person” as defined under the ITAR (22 C.F.R. § 120.62), which includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and certain protected individuals.

Great candidates may not check every box. Applicants with relevant experience, exceptional academic credentials, extreme growth potential, or a genuine interest in defense tech are encouraged to apply.

Ondas offers high-impact work supporting defense and national security customers, a lean and collaborative legal team, and a culture that values diverse perspectives and professional growth. Ondas is an Equal Opportunity Employer; protected veterans and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply, and all qualified applicants will be considered.

Compensation
The base salary range for this Assistant General Counsel position is $200,000 – $240,000 per year. This range represents the good-faith estimate of the salary Ondas reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting.
