Job description

Permanent Full Time - Onsite, Mon - Fri - 10 AM - 6 PM

Team Global Express is seeking an experienced and proactive Operations Support Officer to join our Courier Operations team based at Port Melbourne.

You will play a key role in supporting day-to-day transport operations, customer bookings, fleet coordination, dispatch activities, and operational compliance across the courier network.

Acting as a first point of contact for customer bookings and operational queries, you will work closely with customers, drivers, and internal operational teams to ensure efficient service delivery and smooth transport operations.

About the Role

As an Operations Support Officer, you will provide operational coordination and dispatch support to ensure smooth daily transport activities across the courier business.

You will act as a key point of contact between drivers, customers, and internal teams while supporting fleet operations, driver compliance, scheduling, reporting, and operational performance.

The role requires strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work proactively within a fast-moving operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a first point of contact for customer bookings and operational enquiries

  • Coordinate and support daily transport and dispatch activities

  • Ensure permanent driver runs are allocated daily with backup coverage in place

  • Monitor fleet capacity and assist with additional vehicle requirements

  • Maintain strong communication with drivers, customers, and operational teams

  • Proactively follow up on deliveries and pickups to ensure service commitments are achieved

  • Update and manage driver hours, waiting times, and operational adjustments

  • Support compliance activities relating to CoR, fatigue management, OH&S, and road safety

  • Assist with safe driving plan creation and audits for regional deliveries

  • Complete and validate customer KPI reporting

  • Investigate and assist in resolving pay and charge queries

  • Support MDT troubleshooting and operational driver support

  • Assist with driver onboarding, training, and operational compliance activities

  • Support incident reporting and safety investigations where required

  • Participate in operational improvement initiatives and fleet audits

  • Ensure fleet compliance targets are maintained above required standards

About You

  • Previous experience in transport, courier, fleet, or logistics operations

  • Strong understanding of transport compliance, fatigue management, CoR, and OH&S requirements

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced operational environment

  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and problem-solve proactively

  • Experience working with drivers, fleet operations, and dispatch activities

  • Strong computer and reporting skills

  • Positive attitude with a strong customer and team focus

  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across operational teams
