Join ABC Fitness, the leading technology provider for the fitness industry!

What You’ll Do 

  • Architect the AI Strategy: Define and coordinate the roadmap for AI adoption across all platforms. You’ll determine which technologies, tools, and approaches are "best-fit" for ABC’s unique ecosystem. 

  • Manage the Maturity Spectrum: Develop specialized tracks for different team stages—from building foundational AI infrastructure for new teams to evolving "AI ways of working" for teams earlier in their maturity journey. 

  • Drive Reference Implementations: Work with a core team to build "North Star" examples. You’ll lead POCs and pilot schemes that prove the value of AI in a real-world, production context. 

  • Executive Coordination: Partner closely with Directors and VPs to align transformation goals with business outcomes, managing the trade-offs between rapid innovation and organizational stability. 

  • Value Capture & Communication: You are the chief storyteller for AI. You will define how we measure success, capturing and communicating the tangible value AI brings to our delivery velocity and product quality. 

  • Uncover Best-in-Class Approaches: Lead a small, high-impact team dedicated to researching the AI landscape, ensuring our infrastructure and tooling choices are pragmatic yet forward-looking. 

 

What This Is Not 

  • Not a pure strategy or advisory role—you are accountable for execution. 

  • Not a "hands-off" management role—you will be deep in the POCs and reference builds. 

  • Not disconnected from the "How"—you own the evolution of our engineering culture and ways of working. 

What You’ll Need 

  • Transformation Leadership: 7+ years of people leadership, with a proven track record of leading large-scale change management in engineering or product organizations. 

  • Technical & AI Fluency: You have strong technical credibility and can hold your own with Principal Engineers; you understand the constraints and possibilities of LLM systems. 

  • The "Organizing" Gene: You excel at turning high-level vision into structured plans, pilots, and measurable rollout strategies. 

  • Influential Communication: You can align senior stakeholders and motivate teams to change their daily habits without relying on top-down authority alone. 

  • Operational Thinking: You understand that transformation fails without the right "plumbing"—you care as much about the infra/tooling as you do about the vision. 

And It’s Great to have 

  • Experience leading traditional "Brownfield" teams through an AI maturity model. 

  • Background in Platform Engineering or Developer Experience (DevEx), internal tooling, or engineering productivity 

  • Experience in capturing and visualizing complex ROI for AI initiatives. 

  • Experience leading globally distributed engineering organizations and driving transformation across multiple geographies.

  • Measurable Velocity: A documented increase in delivery speed and a decrease in "plumbing" tasks for engineers. 

  • Clear Paved Paths: Teams at every maturity level have a clear roadmap and the tooling they need to move to the next level. 

  • Proven Value: Senior leadership has a clear, data-driven view of how AI is impacting the bottom line.
