Job description

Company Description

Alliance Animal Health is a fast-growing, private equity backed Veterinarian Service Organization that operates as a majority owner and business partner to many veterinarian practices across the US. Our goal is to make it easier for our practices at every step by providing world-class business solutions like talent acquisition, marketing, human resources, finance, and operations, so that they can focus their energy on providing incredible care for animals. In fact, our Core Values are (quite literally) written with PETS in mind: Passion, Engagement, Trust and Service.

We want our doctor partners to choose what's best for their practice because they are the experts in medicine, while we customize the support, the co-ownership approach, and business solutions based on their goals. We pride ourselves on maintaining a culture of open communication and collaboration to deliver innovative solutions to advance today’s veterinary environment - without disrupting the medical autonomy and what makes each of our hospitals unique.

Job Description

Help build the future of veterinary medicine.

Alliance Animal Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Regional Transition Manager (RTM) to support the successful launch, integration, and operational development of our growing network of Specialty, Emergency, and Urgent Care hospitals.

This is not a traditional Regional Manager position. The Regional Transitions Manager serves as a dedicated startup and integration leader, partnering closely with hospital leadership teams during the critical first 60-120 days of operation. From de novo hospital openings to strategic integrations, you will help establish operational excellence, develop leaders, implement scalable systems, and create the foundation for long-term success.

If you thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy building teams from the ground up, and have a passion for veterinary operations, leadership development, and growth, we would love to speak with you.

About the Role

As a Regional Transition Manager, you will serve as the operational quarterback for newly opened and transitioning hospitals. You will work alongside Practice Managers, Medical Directors, Regional Leaders, and Central Support teams to ensure hospitals are equipped with the tools, processes, and leadership capabilities necessary to thrive.

This position reports directly to the Regional Vice President, Specialty, Emergency & Urgent Care and plays a key role in supporting Alliance Animal Health's continued expansion and operational excellence initiatives.

What You'll Do

Hospital Openings & Integrations

  • Lead operational readiness and startup execution for new hospitals
  • Coordinate implementation of workflows, systems, and operational standards
  • Partner with recruiting, marketing, finance, HR, IT, and learning & development teams
  • Support onboarding, training, and process implementation
  • Identify operational barriers and drive solutions

Leadership Development

  • Coach and mentor Practice Managers and Medical Directors
  • Establish accountability structures and leadership meeting cadences
  • Support hiring, onboarding, engagement, and retention initiatives
  • Develop operational leadership capabilities and business acumen

Performance & Business Operations

  • Guide hospitals through key performance indicators including revenue, transactions, labor management, inventory controls, client experience, and DVM productivity
  • Conduct KPI reviews and develop action plans for growth opportunities
  • Support sustainable operational processes and continuous improvement initiatives

Client Experience & Referral Growth

  • Reinforce exceptional client service standards
  • Support reputation management and review generation programs
  • Assist with referral relationship development and community engagement strategies
  • Promote continuity of care between referring veterinarians and hospital teams

Transition & Handoff

  • Prepare hospitals for successful transition to permanent Regional Operations leadership
  • Assess operational readiness and leadership independence
  • Develop comprehensive transition plans and recommendations

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent veterinary operations experience
  • Minimum 5 years of veterinary hospital leadership experience
  • Minimum 3 years of multi-site operational leadership experience
  • Strong operational background within Specialty, Emergency, and/or Urgent Care veterinary medicine
  • Experience supporting hospital openings, integrations, acquisitions, or major operational initiatives
  • Proven financial management and P&L accountability experience
  • Demonstrated success coaching Practice Managers, Hospital Administrators, and Medical Directors
  • Ability to travel extensively (50-75%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • CVPM certification or equivalent leadership credentials
  • Experience within high-growth veterinary organizations
  • Familiarity with EzyVet, SmartFlow, Vetcove, Cubex, ADP, and related veterinary technology platforms
  • Strong project management, implementation, and change management experience
