THE OPPORTUNITY

As our Technology function continues to grow, EML is investing in data, automation and AI-enabled solutions to improve outcomes across Workers Compensation. Our AI Program focuses on practical, governed innovation delivering measurable value through structured, disciplined delivery.

As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in shaping and delivering technology initiatives across software development, data, automation and AI-enabled solutions.

Operating within a structured and governed delivery environment, you will lead complex analysis activities, bridge business and technology teams and ensure that business needs are translated into clear, tangible and reviewable analysis artefacts that support sound decision-making and predictable delivery outcomes.

This will be a full time, 12-month fixed-term contract based in the Sydney office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead ideation, discovery and analysis activities, including structured workshops

  • Produce high-quality analysis artefacts such as detailed business requirements, process models, data analysis, options analysis and decision records

  • Undertake strategic analysis to support business cases, prioritisation and investment decisions

  • Shape and recommend solution options, trade-offs and impacts to support decision-making

  • Act as a subject matter expert on application and AI-enabled solution capabilities

  • Support Agile delivery processes, including facilitation of Agile ceremonies and delivery events

  • Maintain clear documentation and traceability using Jira, Confluence and approved templates

  • Identify opportunities to improve outcomes through technology, data, AI tools, automation and process improvement

ABOUT YOU

  • Full Australian working rights without restriction

  • 5-8 years experience as a Business Analyst working on complex initiatives in a fast-paced or regulated environments

  • Demonstrated experience leading business analysis activities end-to-end

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and structurally articulate complex concepts

  • Proven experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments, including Kanban and Scrum and collaborating with delivery teams using Jira, SharePoint and Confluence

  • A solid understanding of software development lifecycles, controls and governanc

  • Exposure to, or experience with data-driven, automation, or AI-enabled solutions and emerging technologies is highly regarded
