Job description

Toronto, ON (Remote/Hybrid)
Direct Placement
5+ years of experience

About the Opportunity

Our client is a rapidly growing Ontario personal injury law firm with offices in Toronto and Ottawa. As the firm scales, they are creating a dedicated senior legal role focused entirely on client intake, consultation, and retainer conversion — a critical function in their growth model.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Personal Injury Lawyer who is ready to step away from traditional litigation responsibilities and instead focus on client acquisition, conversion, and firm growth impact.

The Role

As the Intake & Onboarding Specialist, you will serve as the first senior legal point of contact for qualified prospective clients following initial screening.

You will conduct high-value consultations and are responsible for converting qualified leads into signed retainers.

This is not a billable litigation role. Performance is measured by conversion rates, responsiveness, and quality of retained matters, not hours billed or files litigated.

You will work closely with the intake team, who handle initial screening and conflict checks, allowing you to focus fully on consultation and closing.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading consultations with qualified personal injury prospects

  • Converting consultations into signed retainer agreements

  • Assessing liability, damages, and insurance coverage at a high level

  • Clearly explaining contingency fee structures and case strategy value

  • Responding quickly to high-intent leads and maintaining strong follow-up discipline

  • Collaborating with intake and marketing teams to improve lead quality and conversion outcomes

  • Providing feedback on scripts, messaging, and client experience improvements

  • Ensuring seamless handoff of signed matters to litigation teams

What Success Looks Like

  • High conversion rate on qualified consultations

  • Fast response times to priority leads

  • Strong alignment between signed matters and firm criteria

  • Contribution to increased monthly new client intake

  • Continuous improvement of intake and conversion processes

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of Personal Injury experience in Ontario

  • Called to the Ontario Bar and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario

  • Strong understanding of:

    • Liability and damages

    • Insurance coverage and claims

    • Contingency fee models

  • Proven ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and confidently

  • High emotional intelligence when dealing with clients in crisis

  • Strong objection handling and decision-guiding ability

  • Results-driven mindset with ownership over performance metrics

Why This Role

  • Step away from heavy caseload litigation and court demands

  • Directly impact firm growth and client acquisition

  • High visibility role within leadership and operations

  • Performance-based compensation with meaningful upside

  • Modern, fast-paced, growth-focused legal environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $100,000 – $130,000

  • Total Compensation: $120,000 – $170,000+ (base + performance incentives)

  • Full health, dental, and vision coverage

  • Pension matching program

  • Unlimited vacation policy

  • Flexible remote/hybrid structure within Ontario
