We are seeking a Commercial Lawyer to support an Australian-based law firm advising businesses on a broad range of commercial legal matters. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, providing corporate advisory support, and assisting with regulatory compliance matters.

Exposure to Technology Law or Energy Law will be considered a strong added advantage, particularly in matters involving technology-driven businesses, commercial technology agreements, or energy and renewable energy sector clients.

This role will involve working closely with the client’s legal team to review and draft commercial contracts, assist with corporate transactions, conduct legal research, and provide practical legal support to business clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support on a range of commercial and corporate matters within the Australian jurisdiction.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including service agreements, supplier contracts, SaaS agreements, partnership agreements, and NDAs.
  • Assist with corporate transactions and due diligence processes, including reviewing contractual documentation and identifying potential legal risks.
  • Conduct legal research on Australian commercial legislation, regulatory developments, and case law.
  • Advise internal legal teams and stakeholders on contractual obligations, compliance matters, and commercial risks.
  • Support the preparation and management of legal documentation, reports, and transaction-related materials.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure legal work aligns with business and operational objectives.
  • Maintain organized legal records and utilize legal research and document management systems.
  • Assist with matters involving technology sector clients or energy-related legal matters where required.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Law and Qualified Attorney status is mandatory; a master's degree or a degree will be considered an advantage.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in commercial or corporate law.
  • Proven experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and agreements.
  • Familiarity with Australian commercial law and corporate legal frameworks is strongly preferred.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and precise legal documents.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple legal matters efficiently.
  • Exposure to technology law or energy/renewable energy sector matters will be considered an added advantage.

Benefits

  • Opportunity for 100% remote work.
  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Access to advanced legal research and practice management tools.
  • Continuing education and professional development support.
