Job description
We are looking for a Network Tech with a proven track record in the following:
Racking and stacking of network devices
Cable patching
Physical layer troubleshooting (Cicso)
Equipment disposal activities
Installing and troubleshooting Cisco and Avaya IP phones - physically installing in jacks, making sure phones are set up correctly, etc.
Position Details:
Hourly salary based upon the level of experience & skill-set
Long-term with possible extension(s) or temp to hire
Standard work hours: Mon-Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (after hours & weekends as needed)
Type / Location: Mobile Worker: Atlanta, GA
MVR Check required
Candidates must have a valid Driver's License & a dependable vehicle
Travel Expectations: up to 3 hours radius of target location
Experience and Education:
High School / GED or equivalent required.
2+years of experience in data communications
Must have a basic knowledge of Cisco Phones, switches, and routers
Must have a basic knowledge of local and wide area networking.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Requirements:
Must be proficient in utilizing technical low voltage testing tools for CAT5/CAT6
Requires experience in working in communications closets
Must be able to perform rack and stack activities
Must be able to safely lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)
Must understand cable patching processes and procedures
Some sites will require knowledge of 66 Block and 110 Block cross-connect procedures
Must have a basic knowledge of data communications networking.
Must be able to assist in troubleshooting issues &understand network terminology
Must be familiar with IP phone
Must be able to physically install Cisco & Avaya phones - physically run a cable to jacks, etc.
Requires good interpersonal communications skills
Must be able to explain technical issues in a way the customer will understand an issue
Must be able to interpret a customer's issue in a way that will allow the technician to facilitate a resolution
