Job description

Position: Build Engineer
Location: Madison, WI
Duration: 6 Months CTH


Primary Skills
  1. Compute virtualization for both in-house developed and commercial off the shelf software leveragingVMware's technology stack and converged storage solutions utilizing Pure Storage - Private Cloud environment at the enterprise datacenter
  2. Java application server (e.g. JBOSS EAP, Tomcat) implementation.
  3. Linux and Windows systems engineering principles.

Team members for the Data Center Consolidation effort must have experience with at least the following:
  1. Automation of infrastructure delivery with configuration orchestration and management solutions (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Terraform).
  2. Understanding of coding practices and developing in a preferred scripting language (e.g. PowerShell, Python, UNIX Shell Scripting).
  3. Experience with Operating System hardening practices as well as methodologies for templating deployments from a set of standardized images.
  1. Middleware solutions (e.g. IBM MQ, Kafka, Confluent).
  2. DevOps principles and CI/CD solutions (e.g. GitLab, Jenkins).
  3. Software engineering with an emphasis on Java software development.
  4. Containerization of applications, preferably with an emphasis towards Kubernetes, specificallyOpenShift.
  5. Implementation of service catalog automation for delivery of infrastructure services.
  6. Incident triage including scope determination, impact assessment and service restoration.

  2. Extensive experience with Ansible / Terraform & Unix Shell Scripting
  3. Virtualization (VMware experience)

  1. Linux & Windows Administration knowledge
  2. Pure Storage knowledge
