About the Role

The Director, Life UW Solutions will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the strategic vision for Life New Business and Underwriting solutions. This role is responsible for driving innovation, identifying emerging market opportunities, and leading the development of new product offerings that support growth across the Life Insurance vertical.

This is a highly visible leadership role focused on market influence, product innovation, and commercial growth. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with Product, Technology, Marketing, Sales, and Client Engagement teams to bring new solutions from concept through commercialization while positioning LexisNexis Risk Solutions as a recognized thought leader within the industry.

The ideal candidate will combine deep Life Insurance market expertise with strong product development capabilities and a commercially minded approach to growth. This individual should be a proactive self-starter who is comfortable operating with progressive responsibility, influencing strategy, and engaging directly with senior-level customers and industry stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the strategic vision, positioning, and roadmap for Life New Business and Underwriting solutions
  • Lead innovation initiatives and the development of new product offerings from concept through commercialization
  • Conduct customer discovery research, competitive assessments, and market intelligence analysis to identify emerging opportunities
  • Define pricing models, solution packaging, and go-to-market strategies for new and existing offerings
  • Partner with Product, Technology, Business Process Management, and New Product Execution teams to deliver scalable solutions
  • Establish market thought leadership through industry speaking engagements, presentations, and authored communications
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with customers, partners, and key industry stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Client Engagement teams to drive revenue growth and identify new business opportunities
  • Support strategic partnership, merger, and acquisition activities aligned with the vertical strategy
  • Communicate evolving market trends and strategic direction internally and externally

Qualifications

  • 10–12+ years of experience within Life Insurance, underwriting, InsurTech, or related B2B data and analytics environments
  • Strong understanding of Life Insurance new business and underwriting processes, market trends, and customer challenges
  • Proven experience driving product development, innovation, and commercialization initiatives
  • Experience influencing business strategy, revenue growth, and product positioning within a commercial environment
  • Strong executive presence with experience presenting to senior leadership and speaking at industry events
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a highly motivated self-starter in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience collaborating across product, sales, technology, and marketing organizations
  • Familiarity with P&L ownership or contributing to strategic business growth initiatives preferred
  • Background in insurance, financial services, banking, or other highly regulated industries preferred
  • Strong communication, relationship management, and stakeholder influencing skills


U.S. National Base Pay Range: $118,300 - $219,800. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.

Base Pay Range for CO is $118,300 - $219,800. Base Pay Range for IL is $124,200 - $230,800. Base Pay Range for Chicago, IL is $130,200 - $241,800. Base Pay Range for MD is $124,200 - $230,800. Base Pay Range for NY is $130,200 - $241,800. Base Pay Range for New York City is $142,000 - $263,800. Base Pay Range for Rochester, NY is $118,300 - $219,800. Base Pay Range for OH is $112,400 - $208,800. Base Pay Range for NJ is $143,220- $228,780.


This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
