Roles & Responsibilities

  • Minimum five years of clinical practice experience in Infectious Diseases Pharmacy or ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in Infectious Diseases
  • Pharmacy degree (ACPE-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy) or Bachelor/Master of Pharmacy with 10+ years of experience
  • Licensed pharmacist in Nebraska or applicable jurisdiction at start or upon transfer
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Requirements:

  • Lead and participate in statewide antimicrobial stewardship efforts as part of the ASAP outreach program, collaborating with the Pharmacist Program Coordinator, ASAP Medical Directors, and the HAI/AR program
  • Develop and deliver engaging educational content; public speaking; build strong relationships with physicians, nurses, and other stakeholders
  • Support Infectious Diseases pharmacy practice activities, including OPAT, and contribute to research, publications, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Work largely remotely with in-person meetings/clinical work as needed; participate in a year-to-year funded program with federal grant support

Position Highlights:

Nebraska Medicine is offering an exciting opportunity for an Infectious Diseases (ID)-trained pharmacist to join the Nebraska ASAP (Antimicrobial Stewardship Assessment and Promotion) outreach program. This individual will work alongside the Pharmacist Program Coordinator, the ASAP Medical Directors, and the Nebraska DHHS Healthcare-Associated Infection and Antimicrobial Resistance (HAI/AR) program on statewide antimicrobial stewardship efforts.

Shift: 

  • Full Time and benefits eligible (1.0 FTE / 40 hours per week)

  • First Shift – Monday-Friday day shift 8:00 -16:30

Nebraska Antimicrobrial Stewardship Assessment and Promotion Program Pharmacist

A significant portion of functions can be accomplished remotely, but in-person meetings or clinical work may be required. This position is currently funded from year to year through federal grants. Ideal candidates will be formally trained and have significant experience in Infectious Diseases pharmacy practice. Public speaking, the development of engaging educational content, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders is essential. Interest in research and publication is strongly encouraged.

An ideal candidate for this position would possess 5 years of Clinical experience in Infectious Diseases Pharmacy or an Infectious Diseases PGY2 Residency


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years clinical practice experience in the clinical specialty or an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited postgraduate year two residency in the specialty required.

  • Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program OR possess a Bachelor or Master of pharmacy degree with 10 years of experience required.

  • Licensed in the state of Nebraska or jurisdiction in which pharmacy practice is conducted upon start or transfer required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice required.


 Preferred Qualifications:

  • American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited postgraduate year one or year two residency as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice preferred.

  • Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) certification as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice preferred.
