It is redefining the financial landscape by leveraging technology to create an affordable, transparent, and user-centric access to liquidity for millions of Americans. As a leading innovator in the U.S. financial services sector, Dave’s digital financial platform offers products designed to meet the credit needs of those underserved by traditional financial institutions. Dave’s offerings include its flagship ExtraCash product, providing members up to $500 within minutes. The company is on track to launch several new product offerings in 2026, including a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) option.

Dave is focused on serving Americans who are financially vulnerable or living paycheck to paycheck. Dave is leading the charge in creating a new era of credit products that prioritizes speed, affordability, and accessibility, making it the go-to financial partner for those who need it most.

Dave Flex is the newest addition to our product suite, and we’re hiring a Lead Product Designer to help develop it into a mature offering.

The opportunity

This is a senior individual contributor role with meaningful ownership and influence. You’ll lead design for Dave Flex, taking it from early MVP to a scaled, trusted product for our members, and helping define future products in this space. You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and Growth to define what we build and how we build it - connecting day-to-day design decisions to long-term product direction, raising the bar for how design drives outcomes for millions of members.

You won’t have direct reports, but you will lead through influence, clarity, and craft.

What you’ll build and own

  • End-to-end design for our new Dave Flex (BNPL), evolving the product from early launch to a mature, high-impact offering.

  • New features, improvements, and launches that balance speed, clarity, and member trust

  • Product direction in partnership with Product and Engineering, including goals, success metrics, and roadmap decisions

  • Thoughtful solutions across user needs, business constraints, and regulatory considerations

  • Clear design narratives that help teams make informed trade-offs and move forward with conviction

  • Mentorship and guidance for other designers, strengthening craft and collaboration across the team

The impact

Your work will directly shape how members engage with the newest Dave product and influence how we expand our broader credit ecosystem over time. The decisions you make will influence member trust, product adoption, and the long-term direction of a core business line.

What we’re looking for

Experience and skills

  • 7+ years of product design experience in fintech or other scaled consumer products

  • Proven track record of shipping high-impact features or products used by large audiences

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating both deep problem-solving and long-term, systems-level thinking

  • Experience launching new products or major features, from early stages through iteration

  • Deep expertise in mobile-first design

  • Strong visual design paired with practical UX judgment

  • Fluency in Figma and modern design workflows. Actively pursuing fluency in new AI design tools and workflows.

  • Clear, effective communication with cross-functional partners

Bonus

  • Experience designing credit, lending, or financial products with ongoing member relationships

  • Exposure to products serving gig workers or non-traditional income earners

  • Experience with incorporating AI into design workflows or product experiences
