  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field with progressive HR generalist experience across talent acquisition, organizational development, industrial and employee relations, and compensation/benefits.
  • Industrial and employment relations experience including collective bargaining, interpretation of collective agreements, investigations, dispute resolution, disciplinary processes, policy development, and performance management.
  • Experience with HRIS/ERP systems (Workday and SAP preferred) and strong knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, strong project/program management capabilities, data literacy, and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Lead industrial and employment relations, including union engagement and workplace issue resolution.
  • Drive workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, and development initiatives.
  • Improve HR systems and analytics to strengthen processes and decision-making; contribute to HR operating model transformation and related process improvements.

Senior HR Business Partner

Fixed-Term Full-Time (Parental Leave Cover – Approximately 18 Months)     

Lead industrial and employment relations, including union engagement and workplace issue resolution

Improve HR systems and analytics to strengthen processes and decision-making
 

About the Role

As part of the global Pratt & Whitney network, Christchurch Engine Centre is committed to delivering a consistent “One HR” experience across our international operations.

We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Business Partner to provide strategic and operational HR support while contributing to the transformation of our HR operating model (COE) and employee experience.

Reporting to the Senior Manager – HR, you will build strong relationships with leaders, employees, union representatives, and global stakeholders. Partnering closely with your portfolio, you will deliver proactive HR solutions that support business growth, workforce readiness, and the introduction of the GTF Engine programme.

This position combines strategic business partnering with hands-on operational HR support, with particular focus on:

·       Workforce planning and organisational growth

·       Talent management and succession planning

·       Industrial and employment relations

·       Change management and HR process improvement

·       Organisational development initiatives

·       HR systems and continuous improvement projects

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

A bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related discipline.
Progressive HR experience, with strong generalist expertise across talent acquisition, organisational development, industrial and employee relations, and compensation & benefits.
Industrial Relations experience, including collective bargaining and interpretation of collective agreements.
Demonstrated experience across employment relations, including investigations, dispute resolution, mediations, disciplinary processes, negotiations, policy development, and performance management.
Experience within a large, complex, or unionised manufacturing environment will be highly regarded.
Experience working with HRIS/ERP systems; Workday and SAP experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation, HR best practice, and continuous improvement methodologies
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and trusted relationships at all levels
Strong project and programme management capability, with a proactive, results-focused approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
High levels of data literacy, digital agility, attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously while adapting quickly to change

Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project
management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
