Summary of Position:
CCAoA seeks a Senior Research Analyst to contribute to the organization’s research work. This person will be experienced in analyzing and translating data into research products that are accessible to laypeople. They will also be skilled in collaborating with internal and external partners during all phases of projects and adept at navigating relationships internally and externally. The ideal candidate is a strong project manager and relationship builder.
This role reports to the Senior Director of Research.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborates on, designs, and conducts rigorous research to inform and advance Child Care Aware® of America’s efforts to support the child care and early learning system.
- Participates in and leads, as appropriate, data collection and analysis, utilizing multiple research methods as needed (e.g., surveys, questionnaires, case study methods, interviews, etc.
- Communicates and translates data into research products that are easily understood and digested by system leaders, policymakers and CCAoA partners.
- Maintains data and associated databases for key research reports. Provides recommendations for streamlining and improving data collection efforts, and maintaining and improving data integrity, where possible.
- Develops and maintains relationships with external stakeholders, particularly those who provide data for CCAoA analyses, regularly interfacing with them regarding research requests.
- Collaborates as thought partner with Senior Director of Research to ideate on and develop resources and tools and write reports that align with the strategic priorities of CCAoA.
- Collaborates with Policy and Network Impact teams to ensure research products include actionable recommendations when appropriate and called for.
- Manages and supports project development and fundraising as requested, and in coordination with Senior Director of Research and Development Team.
- Partners with colleagues and other CCAoA units to execute projects in support of Research Team goals.
- Remains up to date on developments in child care and early learning research.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum five years of experience and demonstrated success in contributing to research products.
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative social science research, including, but not limited to, developing research protocols, developing surveys, and analyzing extant and original datasets. Proficiency in Excel as well as experience with analytic software such as R, Stata, SAS, SPSS. Experience with SurveyMonkey preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency using Excel required.
- Documented strong analytic, written, and oral communications skills.
- Excellent project management and planning skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, high level of accuracy required.
- Must possess strong collaboration skills with the ability to maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., CCR&Rs, state agencies, advocacy organizations, etc.).
- Ability to work both independently, as well as collegially and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize information quickly and accurately.
- Knowledge of childcare / early childhood education preferred.
Salary Information:
The salary range reflected in this job posting is the hiring range for this position within the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Please note that a geographic differential will be applied to the salary for candidates hired from regions with a lower cost of living. This adjustment ensures competitive and equitable compensation based on location.

Salary: $60,640 – $68,000 Annually
