Independent Contractor: MCCYN CCR&R Support

Term: Through September 30, 2026 (4 months)

Total Compensation: $40,000

Child Care Aware® of America, our nation’s leading voice for child care, works with more than 450 state and local Child Care Resource and Referral agencies (CCR&Rs) to ensure that families in every local community have access to quality, affordable child care.

Summary of Position: The Contractor will provide dedicated support to three Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) organizations in their efforts to increase child care provider enrollment in the Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) program. Throughout the duration of the project, the Contractor will meet weekly with Child Care Aware of America (CCAoA) to report on progress and address any emerging needs.

  1. Customized Recruitment and Enrollment Resources: The Contractor will support the development of individualized recruitment and enrollment materials for each of the three CCR&R organizations, ensuring alignment between local child care provider contexts and MCCYN program requirements.
  2. Technical Assistance (TA) Support: The Contractor will provide regularly scheduled and on-demand technical assistance to CCR&R organizations engaged in MCCYN recruitment and enrollment activities. The Contractor will also facilitate access to CCAoA personnel for additional support as needed.
  3. Progress Monitoring and Problem-Solving: The Contractor will monitor, track, and evaluate each organization's progress toward their enrollment goals, providing targeted problem-solving support as challenges arise.
  4. Written Report: The Contractor will write report outlining the work completed with local CCR&R organizations, progress toward goals, lessons learned, and recommendations for future work.  

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working with or in CCR&R organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical assistance to child care programs and/or program implementation support to community-based organizations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood Program preferred.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Detail oriented, and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment



Salary: $40,000
