Job description

Job Description

Are you a self‑driven commercial professional who thrives in fast‑moving environments and enjoys becoming the go‑to expert for a specific product portfolio? Agilent is seeking a motivated, field‑based Product Specialist with strong experience in anatomic pathology to drive successful adoption, utilization, and competitive differentiation of the Omnis Family Instruments and advanced staining platforms.

In this high‑impact role, you will serve as the product expert supporting pre‑sales activities, complex evaluations, and post‑installation success. You will work closely with sales partners and customers to articulate Agilent’s differentiated value in automated IHC and special stains, ensuring confidence from initial engagement through routine clinical use.

We are looking for a proactive, consultative specialist who understands what makes a pathology lab successful—someone who can translate customer workflow needs into precise product positioning, usage, and value. Familiarity with the Agilent Omnis Family is preferred, but candidates with deep experience in competitive automated mIHC platforms and staining workflows are strongly encouraged to apply.

Your technical depth, product knowledge, and customer engagement skills will help laboratories improve efficiency, quality, and patient care, while reinforcing Agilent’s position as a leader in advanced staining automation.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary product expert for the Omnis Family and Agilent’s advanced staining platforms within the assigned territory.

  • Drive high‑energy product‑focused presales execution, supporting evaluations, demos, and competitive instrument placements.

  • Partner closely with District Sales Managers and Account Managers to influence purchasing decisions and advance complex capital opportunities.

  • Deliver impactful product demonstrations, workflow assessments, and staining performance reviews tailored to clinical and research pathology labs.

  • Provide hands‑on technical support during customer evaluations, validation studies, and early adoption to ensure product confidence and success.

  • Clearly differentiate Agilent through strong product, workflow, and performance positioning in competitive head‑to‑head evaluations.

  • Support installed base growth by guiding optimal product utilization, application expansion, and workflow optimization.

  • Maintain disciplined pipeline and activity documentation in CRM, providing clear product‑related insights to internal stakeholders.

  • Represent Agilent at industry conferences, customer events, and professional forums as a knowledgeable Omnis Family product ambassador.

  • Model Agilent’s values—Integrity, Trust, Innovation, Speed, Accountability, and Respect—in all customer and team interactions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a Histology/Pathology‑related field.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in anatomic pathology, including IHC, special stains, workflow optimization, or instrumentation.

  • Strong technical aptitude with demonstrated ability to become a trusted product and application expert.

  • Familiarity with Agilent Omnis instruments preferred; solid experience with competitive automated IHC/staining platforms is also acceptable.

  • Deep understanding of pathology lab operations, including workflow drivers, QC/QA requirements, validation processes, and economic considerations.

  • Proven ability to support complex capital sales cycles in partnership with field sales teams.

  • Demonstrated success engaging multiple customer levels: technologists, supervisors, pathologists, laboratory directors, and executive stakeholders.

  • Experience supporting product evaluations, validation studies, and customer decision‑making processes.

  • Experience with digital pathology systems (scanners, image analysis, workflow integration) is preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, product‑focused customer value.

  • Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce.com preferred).

  • Strong commitment to Agilent’s values and customer‑first mindset.
