  • Work with corporate factory supply chain planning teams to understand daily, weekly, and monthly forecasts and how/where allocated across the Richardson network
  • Manage data within internal Truck TMS and railcar TMS systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness

Position Overview:


The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, scheduling, and execution of truck movements across the Richardson network, ensuring that commodities (ingredients, packaging, finished goods) are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively. This role involves managing relationships with carriers, internal departments, 3PL warehouse and transportation partners, and external customers while monitoring transportation performance and regulatory compliance.

This position requires on-site presence and is not a remote role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate daily with trucking companies to book loads, identify capacity, and negotiate rates.
  • Tender inbound loads for ingredients & packaging to factories; coordinate with carriers, for dry van, refrigerated vans, and heated trailer shipments.
  • Work and align with corporate & factory supply chain planning teams to understand daily, weekly, and monthly forecasts and how/where allocated across the Richardson network.
  • Utilize negotiated rates and shipping data to identify cost savings, freight efficiencies, and best practices.
  • Manage data within internal Truck TMS and railcar TMS systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Work with 3PL transportation partners to monitor load progress, maintain documentation, and communicate updates with production, carriers, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in transportation/logistics, preferably within the consumer-packaged goods industry.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
