Job description

Category Manager at Toms Group

Are you ready to drive category development for strong brands? Do you want to turn insights into commercial impact? This is your opportunity to take on a shopper- and customer-focused role where you will play a key part in shaping and strengthening our category strategies.

Toms Group is on an ambitious growth journey as Denmark’s largest producer of confectionery. At the same time, we are equally ambitious about strengthening our international position as a competitive and innovative company.

We are therefore looking for a new colleague to join us in the role of Category Manager in our Nordic Category Management team.

About the job

As Category Manager, you will assume responsibility for your own categories and drive their development through data-driven analysis that generates insights and translates into clear, fact-based recommendations. Based on these insights, you will act as a trusted business partner, collaborating closely with Sales and Marketing to drive strong commercial results.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Driving the development and execution of category vision and strategy in close collaboration with Sales and Marketing
  • Monitoring and analyzing category performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and initiating corrective or growth-driving actions
  • Developing data-based recommendations across assortment, space, distribution, pricing, and promotion and translating these into compelling trade stories to secure execution
  • Defining, implementing, and following up on Perfect Store principles and guidelines
  • Initiating and leading customer-specific category development projects

About you

You bring a proactive, analytical, and structured approach to your work, combined with a strong commercial drive. You are motivated by delivering tangible results and have a solid analytical foundation.

You are comfortable working with data and complex analysis. More importantly, you translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations and communicate them in a compelling way to stakeholders.

We are looking for someone with relevant experience from the FMCG or the grocery retail sector, ideally with exposure to the Nordic market, especially Denmark or Sweden. Whether you are early in your career or bring more senior experience, we would like to hear from you.

You do not need to tick every box, but we imagine that you:

  • Hold a relevant commercial degree, such as an MSc in Business Administration (cand. merc.) or equivalent
  • Have experience within category management and/or analytical roles
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Excel, as well as solid capabilities in PowerPoint, Power BI, NIQ-, Shopper- and POS-data
  • Are fluent in English and preferably understand Danish or Swedish

The level of responsibility and scope of the role will be defined based on your experience, seniority, and competencies.

About us
At Toms Group, we believe that we can only succeed in delivering on our vision and strategy by ensuring a strong foundation of skilled employees. That is why our values – courage, creativity, collaboration, and commitment – also form the basis of an inclusive workplace focused on development and well-being.

You will report to Thomas Skyum Poulsen, Nordic Sales Development Manager, and join a team of three Category Managers operating at the intersection of Sales and Marketing as part of our Nordic Sales organization.

While the team is anchored in Ballerup, Denmark, you can be based either at our Ballerup (DK) office or at our Halmstad (SE) office. In this cross-market setup, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across functions and countries, with flexibility to work from home and structure your day with a high degree of independence.
