Job Description
The Regional Vice President for RiverSource Insurance (External wholesaler) is a sales professional with strong relationship building skills, product knowledge and sales experience. Perform as part of a team which includes an internal wholesaling partner, with a primary responsibility of driving RiverSource Life Insurance product sales through the Ameriprise Financial Advisors channel.Key Responsibilities
Drive sales through one-on-one sales meetings by developing, maintaining, and deepening relationships with new and existing advisors; influences advisor choices using a consultative sales process and other performance improvement systems (ex. Territory Analysis Program (TAP), Quality Sales Call, etc.). Partner with internal wholesaler to develop a business plan, handle the territory, and drive regional sales goals and objectives.
Demonstrate an understanding of RiverSource's products, including features and benefits; sells solutions provided by RiverSource to address client needs. Build and maintain relationships with business partners (marketing, senior leaders, field leaders). Research and communicate industry changes and trends that may impact company or product positioning, both with internal and external customers.
Develop and handle systems to create efficiencies (scheduling/rotations, meeting preparation & follow-up, recognizing advisor sales, budget management, etc.). Prioritize and handle daily, weekly, and monthly workload.
Use software, including proprietary programs, to aid advisor business and identify opportunities to offer RiverSource solutions. Analyze advisor and territory sales trends to ensure execution of the territory sales plan and make modifications to the plan so that goals are achieved; leverage the information to prepare for face-to-face sales calls.
Travel within territory to conduct one-on-one Ameriprise Financial Advisor sales calls, conduct client events, and to deliver group presentations, including continuing education/training.
Complete required coursework in order to maintain compliant with state and federal regulations and licenses.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
7-10 years relevante experience
Series 6 or Series 7
State securities agent registrations (Series 63 or Series 66)
5+ years of industry experience in insurance and financial markets or financial planning.
3+ years of successful training or direct selling experience with shown ability to establish rapport and credibility quickly.
Experience working with consultative sales process.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation and problem-solving skills.
RVP must live in territory: North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC with ability to travel (75 - 80%).

This position is remote. Any expectations for travel or in-person collaboration will be discussed during the hiring process. This position is eligible for remote work in these locations: North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC.

Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $75,000 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
