Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university (or equivalent training/experience).
  • Minimum of 10 years of power system design experience in the Nuclear or Power Industry.
  • Experience in industries such as engineering/design services, power generation, nuclear power, heavy industrial and government (DOE) projects.
  • Proficiency in structural calculations and discipline-specific analysis codes, plus strong office software skills (Word/Excel); familiarity with the International Building Code; strong writing and communication skills; ability to work independently and in teams; mentorship experience preferred.

Requirements:

  • Dive into detailed analysis and design of critical civil/structural structures and components for infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to ensure designs meet safety and regulatory requirements, including seismic and environmental standards.
  • Evaluate proposed plant modifications for safety and compliance; prepare in-depth technical reports, design calculations, and specifications; communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Lead design initiatives, drive innovative solutions, and engage in field operations (site walkdowns, field installations, start-ups) while mentoring team members as needed.

Join ENERCON as a Part-Time Principal Civil/Structural Engineer. We are looking for highly skilled Civil/Structural Engineers at the Principal level to play a key role in designing and delivering critical infrastructure projects. Responsibilities:

Our Principal Engineers will serve as a vital member of our engineering team, your day will be filled with meaningful challenges and impactful work. You might start by diving into detailed analysis and design of critical structures and components. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, you’ll ensure designs meet rigorous safety and regulatory requirements, such as seismic and environmental standards. Later, you could evaluate proposed plant modifications, ensuring that every change upholds safety and compliance. Your afternoon might involve preparing in-depth technical reports, design calculations, and specifications, all while effectively communicating findings to key stakeholders. Every task you tackle contributes directly to the safety, reliability, and innovation of our client facilities. You will also need to:

 

  • Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work seamlessly with professionals from various engineering fields, ensuring smooth coordination and integration of designs
  • Lead Design Initiatives: Develop innovative design studies, craft comprehensive project scopes, and produce accurate engineering estimates
  • Innovate Solutions: Tackle complex technical challenges with fresh ideas and creative problem-solving strategies
  • Engage in Field Operations: Embrace opportunities to travel, participate in site walkdowns, oversee field installations, and support system start-ups

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Structural Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent training, education and experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of power system design experience in the Nuclear or Power Industry
  • Experience in one of the following industries required: engineering/design services, power generation, nuclear power, heavy industrial and government (DOE) projects
  • Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of structural calculations is desired
  • Knowledge of discipline-specific computer analysis codes as well as standard office production software
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Familiar with the International Building code and building code design
  • Good writing, presentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
  • Familiar with concrete and steel design codes and with working stress and ultimate strength design approaches
  • Candidates who have mentorship experience or a desire to mentor early to mid career engineers preferred
  • For our Nuclear positions, must be able to get badged at a nuclear facility and obtain unescorted access
  • For our ENERCON Federal Services positions, must be US Citizen

Pay Range: USD $61.48 - USD $88.27 /Hr. Additional Information:
