  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform regular field work in various weather conditions; valid Driver's license with good driving record.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook); ability to communicate effectively in English (reading and writing) due to safety-related materials, documentation, and interactions with clients; ability to follow written or oral instructions.

Job description

Position Overview:

Power your future with Qualus in our Field Engineering department as a Lead Wireman. The Lead Wireman has the ability to lead, direct, and guide the activities on the assigned project. They will be responsible for pulling wire, wire terminations, and control panel construction within substations and electrical facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Reads prints, uses standard hand and power tools, follow specific work instructions while adhering to all Safety and Human Performance fundamentals. 
  • Inspect, test, repair, and maintain electrical equipment in generating stations, substations, and in-service relays.
  • Wires from point-to-point or schematics  
  • Install process piping and instrumentation 
  • Installs components per layout drawings 
  • Manages, mentors and coaches employees
  • Communicates job expectations and monitoring with employee base 
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in installation of high voltage components, perform wiring, including control panels, control houses and process modules.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (inclusive of reading and writing) due to the nature of safety-related materials, documentation, and interactions with clients.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)  
  • Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Valid Driver’s license and good driving record
