Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a motivated Senior Application Engineer to support and maintain mission-critical business applications and integrations across enterprise systems; ensuring operational stability, performance, and security. This position combines application support, integration development, and platform management across an enterprise ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, ensuring seamless data exchange and process automation.

This position requires a strong understanding of business processes, data flows, and data transformations, and be capable of troubleshooting complex issues in production environments. The role also ensures adherence to security, compliance, and data governance standards while driving continuous improvement and modernization of business applications and integrations.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

  • Provide support for business-critical applications and integrations operations
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of applications, integrations and enterprise systems
  • Monitor system health, job execution, data flows, and respond to alerts
  • Partner with functional teams to troubleshoot process issues
  • Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes
  • Configure and monitor batch jobs, file schedules, and dependencies
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Design, develop and maintain integrations using file-based methods or APIs
  • Create and maintain data mappings between systems
  • Build scalable, reusable integration components that optimize workflows
  • Ensure data accuracy, transformation logic, and validation rules
  • Lead testing, deployments, and migrations
  • Coordinate with vendors and cross-functional teams
  • Maintain design and operations documentation
  • Identify and support continuous process improvement including AI adoption
  • Deliver excellent customer service to business users

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Experience: 5+ years minimum supporting business critical applications, integrations, or enterprise systems
  • Experience specifically working with file-based integrations (EFT/MFT), integration platforms (iPaaS, middleware), or API/web services
  • Hands-on experience supporting enterprise business applications, complex process flows and integrations
  • Strong understanding of enterprise system architecture, data structures, and integration patterns
  • Ability to bridge technical implementation and business processes
  • Experience supporting on-prem or cloud native file transfer and integration platforms
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Hands-on experience supporting batch jobs, scheduled processes, and data feeds
  • Experience developing and supporting integrations for critical enterprise applications
  • Experience modernizing legacy integrations moving toward APIs/event-driven models
  • Strong understanding of incident, problem, and change management processes
  • Experience with ITSM ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)
  • Ability to work with business users, vendors, and internal technical teams
  • Strong documentation, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support when required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service and issue resolution skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
  • Preferred: Experience supporting core business processes across Finance (accounting, planning, treasury, tax) and HR (employee lifecycle); Proven ability to adapt to new tools and technologies
  • Location: remote with less than 10% travel

The likely salary range for this position is $97,968 - $110,400. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
