Job scope/summary:
The Works Council/Unions Engagement Lead serves as the primary interface between the company and employee representative bodies (e.g. local Works Councils and/or European Works Councils). The role ensures legally compliant, structured, and constructive engagement by coordinating consultations, aligning internal stakeholders, and facilitating clear two‑way communication between management and employee representatives.
This role typically works closely with Legal, HR Business Partners, Finance, IT, and Business Leadership.
Job specifics/responsibilities:
Works Council Engagement & Consultation
Act as the single point of contact between Sales Compensation and the Works Councils/Unions.
Coordinate and manage information, consultation, and co‑determination processes in line with local labor laws and company governance.
Ensure WC and Unions receive timely, complete, and accurate information required for informed consultation.
Stakeholder Alignment & Governance
Align internal stakeholders (HR, Legal, Finance, IT, Business leaders) on scope, messaging, and timelines before WC/Unions engagement.
Ensure a consistent company position is presented to avoid misalignment or rework.
Partner with Legal(if needed) to assess legal obligations, risks, and consultation requirements.
Meeting Facilitation & Documentation
Prepare agendas, coordinate meetings, and support effective WC/Unions discussions.
Document outcomes, agreements, action items, and follow‑ups.
Maintain a clear audit trail of consultations, decisions, and approvals.
Communication & Translation
Translate complex business, legal, or technical topics into clear, understandable language for WC/Unions members.
Translate WC/Unions feedback, concerns, and proposals into actionable insights for leadership and functional teams.
Issue Management & Relationship Building
Identify potential sensitivities or conflicts early and support constructive resolution.
Foster a trust‑based, professional working relationship with employee representatives.
Support de‑escalation and prevent unnecessary formal disputes where possible.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
Ensure ongoing compliance with labor law, WC and Unions agreements, and internal policies.
Track recurring themes and opportunities to improve consultation effectiveness and employee relations practices.
Key deliverables/accountabilities:
Strict observation of and compliance with the HP procedures/policies
Strict adherence to Labor legislation
Timely preparation of deliverables, providing regular updates and follow up
Adapting to meet the changing business needs and targets
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across senior leadership and employee representatives.
Excellent written and verbal communication in German and English;
Ability to simplify complex topics.
High level of discretion, integrity, and professionalism.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation.
Ability to manage sensitive topics calmly and constructively.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in Employee Relations, Labor Relations, HR Business Partnering, or a similar role.
Hands‑on experience working with Works Councils, employee representative bodies, or unions(would be a plus)
Understanding of labor law, consultation frameworks, and co‑determination principles(would be a plus)

The base pay range for this role is 163350 PLN gross to 247600 PLN gross annually with additional cash compensation opportunities in the form of annual cash incentive bonuses. In addition, this role may be eligible for equity awards (typically granted in the form of restricted stock units) that are independently granted by the Company's U.S. parent corporation, HP Inc., on a discretionary basis under its equity plan. Pay varies by job-related skills, effort, responsibility, working conditions, experience and work location.
