Roles & Responsibilities

  • Five years of experience in a primary Windows server support role managing a large Windows server network (50+ servers).
  • Strong experience with Active Directory (setup/implementation) and related services (DNS, DHCP, GPOs, PKI, replication, forest/domain trusts).
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0+, Windows Terminal Services, and virtualization (Citrix or VMware ESX).
  • PowerShell and .NET proficiency; familiarity with ITIL or Microsoft Operations Framework; ability to design/maintain Microsoft technologies and third-party applications.

Requirements:

  • Provide global support and administration of core Active Directory and associated services (AD, replication, DNS, DHCP, PKI, GPOs) and Windows-based servers.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and support hardware, operating systems and applications; perform system backup and recovery.
  • Analyze and document current infrastructure and devise monitoring strategies for in-house application performance, inter-process communications, messaging, middleware, and cross-platform software.
  • Participate in customer change requests and problem ticket resolution outside normal hours; on-call duties 24x7 in rotation.

This position is responsible for providing technical and Windows administration support to ensure that production servers, operating systems, and systems management components are functionally properly. You will work with a team that acts as a primary escalation point to resolve difficult problems and provide solutions involving new and existing technologies. You will be responsible for the configuration and support of Microsoft Windows based servers for internal and external customers.
We are looking for a Sr System Admin who will:

  • Provide global support and administration of core Active Directory and associated services. (AD, Replication, Forest and Domain Level Trusts, DNS, DHCP, PKI, GPOs, etc.)

  • Analyze and document current infrastructure and devise strategies for monitoring in-house application performance characteristics, inter-process communications, messaging, middleware and collaborative software on various platforms.

  • Assist in development of hardware/software business cost of ownership models and presentations for management.

  • Installation, configuration, maintenance and support for hardware, operating systems and applications.

  • User administration; printer administration, security policy implementation; system backup and recovery.

  • Participate in completing customer change requests and problem ticket resolution outside of normal business hours.

  • On-call duties that include 24x7 pager response.

Is this opportunity right for you? We’re looking for candidates who have:

  • Five years' experience in a primary support role managing a large Windows server network (50+ servers) consisting of the following:

-Windows 2016, 2019, and 2022 Server Operating Systems
-Internet Information Server 5.0 and greater
-Windows Terminal Services
-SQL Server Experience preferred
-Active Directory (including having worked in the set-up and implementation process)

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the design, implementation and maintenance of Microsoft operating systems/technologies and third party applications including either Citrix Server or VMware ESX Server.

  • Working with network infrastructure applications across networks such as messaging, database, Intranet, Internet communications and operating systems administration.

  • Supported server technology (such as RAID, clustering, domain models, DHCP, DNS, WINS, LDAP).

  • Experience/expertise in the following areas:

-PowerShell and .NET preferred
-Monitoring methodology and technologies
-IT Infrastructure Management Frameworks such as ITIL and the Microsoft Operations framework

  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate potential problems and develop contingency plans.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to communicate technical subjects with technical and non-technical employees.

  • Knowledge in hardware/software architecture as well as being able to implement solutions for the company.

  • Skills in configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting server-class hardware (preferably HP C-Class blade systems and technologies).

  • Experience identifying issues and determining root cause via a consistent, layer by layer, logical approach.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assigned tasks/projects in addition to daily responsibilities.

  • Ability and willingness to be on-call 24x7 in an on-call rotation.
