HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT:
The Senior Project Manager, Network Engineering is responsible for driving the execution, coordination, and governance of infrastructure and network-related initiatives across the enterprise. This role ensures that all projects are actively tracked, documented, and progressing according to plan.
This position acts as the operational backbone of the network engineering function; maintaining visibility across all initiatives, facilitating communication across teams, and reducing administrative burden on technical staff. The Senior Project Manager, Network Engineering emphasizes structured execution, documentation discipline, and proactive intervention when projects fall behind.
As network infrastructure becomes increasingly critical to business performance, the ability to consistently deliver projects with discipline and transparency is essential. This role ensures that:
- All infrastructure projects are visible, tracked, and actively managed
- Engineering teams remain focused on technical execution rather than administrative overhead
- Risks, delays, and dependencies are identified early and addressed proactively
- Leadership has clear, accurate insight into project health and delivery status
- Change activity is governed, reviewed, and continuously improved
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Project & Portfolio Tracking
- Maintains a centralized view of all infrastructure and network engineering projects
- Tracks milestones, dependencies, risks, and timelines across initiatives
- Ensures project status is continuously updated and accurately reflected
- Identifies projects at risk and drives corrective actions
Documentation & Reporting
- Owns and maintains all non-technical project documentation
- Ensures project plans, timelines, status reports, and artifacts are current and complete
- Standardizes documentation practices across initiatives
- Provides regular reporting to leadership on project health, risks, and progress
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Meets regularly with engineering, infrastructure, security, and business teams to gather updates
- Aligns stakeholders on priorities, timelines, and deliverables
- Facilitates communication across teams to remove blockers and maintain momentum
Timeline & Delivery Management
- Builds and adjusts project timelines based on real-time input from teams
- Ensures sequencing and dependencies are clearly defined and managed
- Proactively intervenes when deliverables are at risk of delay
Change Governance (CAB Leadership)
- Leads Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings for infrastructure changes
- Tracks and documents change outcomes, including successes, failures, and rollback scenarios
- Ensures follow-up actions are captured and completed
- Drives continuous improvement in change management practices
Operational Support to Engineering
- Reduces administrative workload for engineers by owning coordination and tracking activities
- Ensures engineers can focus on design, implementation, and troubleshooting work
- Acts as the primary organizer for project-related workflows and updates
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Program & Project Execution:
- Strong ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives with competing priorities
- Skilled in timeline management, dependency mapping, and risk mitigation
Operational Discipline:
- Ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
- Drives alignment without direct authority
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Maintains high standards for reliability, documentation, and execution
Communication & Transparency:
- Provides clear, concise, and consistent updates to leadership and stakeholders
- Translates project complexity into understandable status and risks
Adaptability & Problem Solving:
- Adjusts plans quickly based on changing priorities or constraints
- Identifies gaps and proactively implements solutions
Education, Certification and Experience
- Bachelorβs degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) required
- 7+ years of project or program management experience in IT or infrastructure environments required
- Experience managing infrastructure, network, or technical delivery projects required
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment required
- Strong proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, MS Project, or equivalent) required
- Experience supporting network engineering or infrastructure teams preferred
- Familiarity with change management processes (e.g., CAB, ITIL frameworks) preferred
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification preferred
