The BioMed Specialist will fuel the growth of our biomedical sales, service and rental sales.  This role will drive growth by providing front line sales expertise to the field and acting as a conduit back to the internal biomed operations team. You will have specific financial growth responsibilities (sales revenue and gross profit goals) and will focus on increasing biomedical sales through focused customer interaction and by providing exceptional support to our field sales organization and customers.  This role will represent our commitment to growth and being “easy to do business with”.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for being part of the sales process, collaborating with biomedical operations and providing sales expertise and value to our customers.  

The position is expected to identify, develop, and close new biomedical sales, rental and service business opportunities, penetrate and retain existing business, and meet/exceed annual sales and gross profit plans.  The Sales Specialist will drive growth of biomedical sales throughout their defined territory and will represent the biomed team across the business promoting cross functional collaboration.  This position is remotely located within their assigned region and has estimated travel of 75%.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support for BioMed Business: Assists the Director of Biomedical Sales by collaborating with Vice Presidents, Area Sales Managers, Account Managers and Operations team to coordinate efforts around biomed business.  Serve as a sales partner that provides product expertise resulting in increased sales of biomed sales, rental and service, which includes helping to facilitate capturing working assumptions for new deals.

  • Specialist sales arm for assigned regional teams:  Establish strong relationships with our field sales force and represent BioMed opportunities to them and their customers.  Must have a commitment to superior customer (both sales force and end user) service.  Become an extension of both the sales and operations teams you collaborate with and provide superior service to end users.

  • Large customer opportunities: Represent biomed and collaborate with sales team on opportunities and develop customized proposals for these groups by managing the various corporate functions including cost / price, product review, and participation in customer presentations and business reviews/proposals.

  • Serve as feedback loop and voice of customer: As an expert on the “front lines”, report back into the biomedical team trends, new product opportunities, competitive intelligence, and service and/or product ratings.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant experience.

Critical Skills:

  • Experience with primary care and/or extended care markets and customers

  • Experience with Biomed Sales for an OEM

  • Ability to take ownership, influence others, and drive sales process from inception to close

  • Proven experience working in complex situations and negotiating with senior level decision makers

  • Ability to strategically build relationships with sales leadership, customers, and internal business partners

  • Capable of learning new and/or complex products and processes quickly to facilitate in the new product launch process

  • Ability to train and educate the sales force on product offering

  • Solid understanding of cost and margin structures

  • Ability to manage complex spreadsheets

  • Enthusiastic about speaking in front of groups of colleagues and customers.

  • Proficiency with MS Office, able to develop PowerPoint presentations and present

  • Valid driver’s license and clear driving record required.

Travel

  • Ability to travel daily within assigned territory up to 75%

Education

  • 4-year degree in business or related field or equivalent experience

Physical Requirements

  • Significant amount of time performing computer and phone-based work is required

  • Significant amount of time spent traveling via automobile

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.  In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered. Our Total Target Cash (TTC) Pay Range for this position:

$149,600 - $249,400

Total Target Cash (TTC) is defined as base pay plus target incentive.
