Sr. Property Accountant

POSITION:  Sr. Property Accountant

REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer

Position Summary:

The Senior Property Accountant is responsible for full-cycle accounting for an assigned portfolio of senior living communities. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, supports community leadership with timely insights, and maintains the integrity of financial data across month-end, billing, accounts payable, and budgeting processes 

Key Responsibilities 

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and variance reports. 

• Manage full month-end close: accruals, reclasses, journal entries, reconciliations. 

• Review resident billing, rent rolls, census, and revenue for accuracy. 

• Oversee accounts payable coding and monitor spending vs. budget. 

• Support ownership reporting, lender requirements, and audit processes.

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. 

• 3–5+ years of property accounting experience; senior living preferred. 

• Strong GAAP knowledge and monthly close experience. 

• Advanced Excel skills; Yardi, PCC, QuickBooks or similar experience preferred. 

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines. Core Competencies
