PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Ensures assigned payments (example: rebates to customer) are accurately calculated (in accordance to contract and policy guidelines) and timely executed. Contributes to achieving business goals by providing high quality analysis, forecast, and recommendations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for analyses, forecasts, and modeling required to effectively manage pricing, reimbursement, and rebate functions. This includes (but not limited to) monthly discount and rebate accruals, contract commitment performance analysis, evaluation of rebate discount reserve, and what-if analysis.
- Responsible for the end-to-end process, execution, and analysis required to accurately calculate and timely pay rebates and fees of assigned customers and/or geographical region(s). This includes review of contract, amendment to contracts, SOL (Special Offer Letter); customer contract performance analysis and forecast.
- Coordinate with clinical, Legal, and Compliance Departments to ensure compliance with applicable business rules and relevant legal decisions.
- Drive resolution and prevention of future EDI chargeback errors.
- Process chargeback claims or adjustments that are submitted manually.
- Remain current with and understand the impact of the new healthcare related regulations such as the new ESRD bundle and healthcare reform (PPACA).
- Address and correct operational, audit, and compliance issues identified.
- Identify and develop initiatives to support department business needs, increase automation and improve productivity.
- Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.

Bachelor's Degree required (quantitative field preferred)
Master's Degree (MBA or other healthcare related) a plus.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 2 - 5 years' related experience (pricing, rebates, reimbursement, chargeback, finance, accounting etc)
- 2 years of experience in a medical products industry (device and pharmaceutical sectors ideal).
- Solid understanding of finance and accounting. Ideal candidate would have had roles in financial analysis in addition to roles in pricing, rebates, and reimbursement.
- Ability to work at a high level and at a detail level (working with large volumes of data).
- Understanding of the calculation rules (as defined by CMS), logic, and regulation of pharmaceutical / government pricing metrics such as AMP (Average Manufacturer's Price), BP (Best Price), ASP (Average Sales Price), Non FAMP. This would also require an understanding of various COT (Class of Trade) definitions.
- Desire and ability to learn.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
- Working knowledge and experience in Excel and Access.
- Knowledge of SAP and proven track record in using SAP to improve productivity.
- Solid track record in process improvement or transformation
