This position will report to the Director of Provider Strategy who oversees a team of Medical Record Specialists. This team is responsible for identifying, retrieving, and delivering patient medical records to our clinical teammates. The Medical Record Specialists will collaborate with internal and external healthcare providers to retrieve and upload medical records into our Electronic Medical Record System (EMR).
This position has the opportunity to go into the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays every week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as a key contact for clinical teammates regarding medical record procurement, including timely collection and distribution of requests for medical records
Clearly and concisely communicates with external healthcare providers via phone and fax to procure medical records
Welcomes feedback, provides appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits, and follows up to confirm resolutions
Has a clear understanding of HIPAA and the importance of managing confidential information and PHI with discretion
Validates accurate entry of verified medical records into required forms while navigating through multiple computer applications and systems
Serves as a subject matter expert for teammates with a solid understanding of medical records policies and regulations related to medical information practices
Collaborates with the larger team to drive tasks, projects, and goals to completion
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Strong organizational skills and ability to execute on timelines
Team-centered approach with the ability to function independently
Problem-solver who is solution-focused
Comfortable adapting to change (Includes learning new systems and computer applications)
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook) is required
Previous experience managing health information is preferred

The Wage Range for the role is $19.50 - $25.50 per hour.
