  • Ensure adherence to state and federal regulatory compliance for drug and occupational health screenings; monitor KPIs and vendor performance; present solutions to clients, executive leadership, and board members as needed.

Department: Operations

Reports To: Vice President of Operations

Employment Type: Full-time, Salary, Exempt, Remote

Salary: $75,000-$84,000 per year

Location: This is a remote position; however, due to compliance reasons we can only consider candidates residing in one of these eligible states: AL, AZ, CO, GA, IL, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, NC, NH, NJ, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WI, WV

Job Summary: The Director of Drug and Occupational Health owns the strategy and execution for the Drug and Occupational Health functions within the company. This position is responsible for managing and maximizing team utilization for drug and occupational health products with our customer base. The individual in this role must demonstrate a keen focus on workforce efficiency, setting goals, budgets, and timelines for the business. This position will act as a liaison for Third-Party Administrators, Laboratories, Internal Personnel, Clients, and Client Applicants.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop the company’s Drug and Occupational Health Services strategy to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate with clients and/or internal teams to understand the program’s needs.
  • Service as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the team and engage with prospective customers, existing customers, partners and internal team members in that capacity. 
  • Discover and implement new capabilities that yield competitive advantage.
  • Ensure adherence to State and Federal regulatory compliance in Drug and Occupational Health product screenings.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to upholding legal standards in the workplace.
  • Monitor KPI’s to manage operational and vendor performance.
  • Present Drug and Occupational Health solutions and optimizations to clients, Executive Leadership, and board members as needed. 
  • Create workflows and SOP’s for the department.
  • Manage performance and productivity for team members in the department including development of training materials, setting department expectations and ensuring team members are aligned with department standards and industry best practices.
  • Attend in person conferences and seminars relevant to the functions of the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Degree or equivalent in Drug and Occupational Health and/or Medical Field
  • Required: Minimum five years’ experience working in Drug and Occupational Health specifically within the background screening market.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Advanced knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Understanding of State and Local laws regarding drug screening in the workforce.
  • Experience with Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Experience in managing expectations of collection sites, laboratories, vendors, third party administrators.
  • Proven ability to negotiate with vendors and third-party administrators.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have a dedicated and ergonomic workspace at home conducive to focused work.
  • Access to a stable and reliable high-speed internet connection.
  • Adequate lighting and minimal background noise to support professional video calls and meetings.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 5 pounds occasionally, for tasks such as setting up a workstation or equipment.
  • The ability to work comfortably and effectively in a home environment that meets ergonomic standards, including proper seating and desk setup.
