Job description

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant- Laboratory will be responsible for providing basic laboratory screening, maintaining laboratory
records, collecting and submitting laboratory specimens.

Schedule:

Flexible, may require some evening and weekends

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture and related duties.
Collect blood specimens by venous and capillary puncture.
Draw blood ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and protocols.
Label specimens accordingly, centrifuge, prepare specimens as required by test order, and package specimens for transport.
Maintain records in an accurate and complete manner.
Strict adherence to the policy and procedure manual.
Keeps lab area neat and clean. Disposes of biohazard containers when scheduled.
All other duties as assigned.
