Requirements:

  • Prepare and review complex U.S. tax returns for individuals and businesses (including Form 1040, 1065, 1120S, 1120, Schedule C/E/F, K-1, capital gains, rental properties)
  • Handle IRS and state tax matters including notices, installment agreements, penalty abatements, and offers in compromise
  • Provide proactive tax planning support (entity structure analysis, S-Corp elections, income tax minimization, depreciation and retirement planning)
  • Serve as a technical resource for the India tax team, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with U.S.-based leadership to improve return quality

  • 1:30 PM to 10:30 IST

  • Must be willing to work overlapping hours with U.S. time zones during busy seasons

We are building a high-performance global team focused on delivering exceptional client service and technical excellence.

We are seeking an experienced Senior US Tax Expert to strengthen our India tax operations and support our expanding U.S. client base.

Position Overview

This role is ideal for a highly skilled U.S. tax professional with strong experience in:

  • Individual taxation

  • Business taxation

  • Tax resolution

  • Tax planning support

The selected candidate will serve as a senior technical resource for the tax team, helping improve technical quality, support complex tax matters, and mentor junior staff.

This is not primarily a people-management role, but a senior-level technical role requiring strong independent tax knowledge and problem-solving capability.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Preparation & Review

Prepare and review complex U.S. tax returns, including:

Individual Tax Returns (Form 1040)

  • Multi-state returns

  • Schedule C, E, and F

  • K-1 reporting

  • Capital gains and stock transactions

  • Rental properties and depreciation

  • High-income and complex individual returns

Business Tax Returns

  • Partnerships (Form 1065)

  • S-Corporations (Form 1120S)

  • C-Corporations (Form 1120)

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing financial statements

  • Identifying tax adjustments

  • Analyzing business tax issues

  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations

Tax Resolution Support

Handle IRS and state tax matters, including:

  • IRS notices and correspondence

  • Installment agreements

  • Penalty abatement requests

  • Tax account transcript analysis

  • Supporting Offer in Compromise (OIC) cases

Tax Planning Support

Assist U.S. CPAs with proactive tax planning strategies, including:

  • Entity structure analysis

  • S-Corp election considerations

  • Income tax minimization strategies

  • Depreciation and retirement planning concepts

The ideal candidate should be able to think beyond tax preparation and understand the reasoning behind tax strategies.

Technical Support & Team Development

  • Serve as a technical resource for the India tax team

  • Assist with resolving complex tax questions

  • Help improve return quality and review processes

  • Support training and mentoring of junior staff

  • Collaborate closely with U.S.-based leadership and CPAs



Requirements

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 7–10 years of hands-on experience in U.S. taxation

  • Experience working with U.S.-based CPA firms preferred

  • Strong experience in both individual and business taxation

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of:

  • U.S. federal and state tax concepts

  • Individual and business tax compliance

  • Tax research and issue resolution

  • Tax planning fundamentals

Software Experience

Experience with one or more of the following:

  • Lacerte

  • ProSeries

  • UltraTax

  • Drake Tax

  • CCH Axcess or similar software

Additional experience with:

  • QuickBooks Online/Desktop

  • Excel and tax workpapers

Certifications

Preferred:

  • Enrolled Agent (EA)

  • CPA (US or India)

Candidates currently pursuing EA certification are encouraged to apply.
